Tenchu IV publisher is none other than....Ubisoft? (Tenchu IV details)

Tenchu IV was announced a few days ago for the Wii, but there has been a new revelation about the game's publisher. Ubisoft seems to be handling the publishing process which is quite a surprise. The company has been putting a great emphasis on casual titles for the Wii and is the notorious creator of Dogz, Horsez, and every other game ending in a 'z.' Ubisoft will most likely not be able to interfere with the development title, thus Tenchu fans should be rest assured that Tenchu IV will turn into Petz: Tenchu IV.

Full details about Tenchu IV below:

- Main characters: Rikimaru and Ayame
- Story: set one year after the riots caused by the Witchcraft Lord "Tenrai". There are still some evil people behind the scenes that are causing trouble, and gaining in power. There was also an incident involving the kidnapping of princess Kiku (Lord Gouda Matsunoshin's daughter). Rikimaru and Ayame must find out what is going on with these happenings.
- "Stealth Ninja Action Game"
- developers are saying that this could be the 'epitome of the series'
- new character designs
- new actors
- both characters have different fighting styles, and "assassination cutscenes".
- Stealth actions: hide in water, climb on ceilings, sneak around above the ceiling, hide in the dark, hide bodies, hide within caravans to sneak into heavily guarded locations, and more moves completely new to the series
- special move allows you to quickly dispose of a body into water, effectively hiding the corpse
- ninja tools from previous entries return, and have been reworked for Wiimote/Nunchuk control
- www.tenchu.net may be updated on June 7th with info

Well Ubisoft isn't making the mature titles for the Wii but at least they are funding others to do so.

BrotherNick5955d ago

This game sounds really neat. Going on my wish list.

Voiceofreason5955d ago

They still have RED Steel 2 in the works..

PS360WII5955d ago

Well they haven't announced it yet though there is hope ^^

But other than that they have just been making the little games. Can't deny that but at least they helped bring No More Heroes and this one so they are doing something right :)

M0UTHBREAKER5955d ago

Crap, the manual of the game is going to suck ballz.

wwooooo! Tenchu! the Wii is starting to appeal more and more to me. First Fatal Frame now this. I want a Wii now...

eddierivera5955d ago

Again, I have to say it again,, Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Ubisoft is the arch enemy of video games.

I don't care about the publisher. As long as Tenchu remains intact, I don't care. Tenchu is the only reason I will embrace the Wii. Tenchu is my favourite series and I will go where my fave series is. If it's the Wii, then so be it.

Games2C: Tenchu 4 Review

Games2C:

"The difficulty in engaging normal soldiers in swordplay is actually toned down a notch when reaching end of level boss characters. This is a very telling sign that the developers knew that the swordplay mechanic was invariably broken and subsequently made tweaks to the big boss characters or face a totally broken game. It's shoddy, and utterly spoils what could have been a great debut for the loveable sneaky ninja. Instead as we said in the beginning, it's a gruelling path that lies ahead for any would–be Wii assassins – patience isn't so much a virtue, rather a prerequisite."

VGC Review: Tenchu: Shadow Assassins

VGC writes: "There hasn't been a bigger surprise this generation than the success of Nintendo's Wii, but while the Wii continues to sell in extraordinary quantities, it has been lacking in some genres. Tenchu: Shadow Assassins is looking to cover one of those gaps in the Wii's library with its unique approach to the stealth genre. As the fourth main title in the series, does Shadow Assassins set a shining example on Wii, or is it doomed to the mediocrity of the recent Tenchu spinoffs?"
