By now it’s known that Quantic Dream has been working on one or more PS4 exclusives in collaboration with Sony Worldwide Studios, but how long have they been at it? Quite long.
Hopefully their next game has insane graphics then
Oh i'm sure the graphics will be amazing i'm more worried about the gameplay.
My bad bro , I didn't mean to dislike But I agree with you!!
Gameplay was solid, you just didn't like the style of gameplay, there's a difference.
I agree. Quantic Dream "games" have great graphics, decent story but lack gameplay. Actually we shouldn't call them games, but interactive movies. I wish they tried something different then their usual type of "games". I wouldn't mind seeing from them a 3rd person RPG.
LOL, why would anyone disagree with that statement? Why wouldn't gameplay be a concern if you're buying a game? If all you care about is graphics, you might as well just watch Blu-Rays mastered in 4K.
@Logic - "why would anyone disagree with that statement?" Because they enjoy the unusual change of pace that QD brings to the table compared to a virtual ocean of games with very similar gameplay. QD needs improved writing, especially if they're going for stories with multiple endings, but I enjoy their gameplay. It's just different, and that's not a bad thing.
@MysticStrummer Replay value is one the most important things a game should have IMO and QD's games are lacking in that. Why couldnt we control Jody when we were running from the cops in the forest and try different strategies to escaping rather than just tapping/holding buttons for quick time events? Making gameplay decide the outcome in the story is something David Cage just doesn't seem willing to try.
@Tekolie - I can see that, though I don't agree that replay value is necessarily tied to the ability to try different things. There have been very linear games that I played again and again just because they were fun, and there have been more open games that I played through once and never looked at again. The opposite is also true. For me, replay value is the general fun I have with the game, and wanting to see the story again. But, everyone likes different things. My comment was simply stating that many people enjoy QD's gameplay, so Logic didn't need to LOL and act shocked about people disagreeing with Dark. QD has their own style, and no game is for everyone. There are many games which don't have that style so I personally enjoy the change.
Why cant 'interactive movies' be a genre on its own and critisized in that light, fair and square? Why do people have to complaint about these games all the time? Does every game need to play like COD to be to mainstream satisfaction? Well guess what these games are NOT mainstream!
The world will be in awe once Quantic Dream bring out a PS4 game. :)
Judging by their most recent releases, graphics are hardly an issue for them. I'm more interested to know what kind of game it is. While I enjoyed Beyond, the noir thriller feel of Heavy Rain was far more entertaining.
You know it will. Hopefully its Kara as that tech trailer for Kara showed huge potential. Seeing as it gained a lot of attention I doubt Quantic Dream would make a trailer as good as Kara then do nothing with it.
I really hope so, that would be amazing. Don't see it happening though :(
Beyond 2 Souls for PS4 announced at GamesCon 2014, released this November with mind blowing graphics and better controls and deleted scenes. New PS4 IP announced shortly after and that gets a release date for 2015! Cant wait. :)
That would be awesome, especially if the new game is Kara.
So that is why Beyond Two Souls was disappointing. Maybe if they focused less on tinkering with the PS4 and making tech demos, Beyond Two Souls would have turned out much better on the PS3.
I thought it was pretty good, for being non-standard sort of game. Visuals of course were second to none, but not a bad game at all.
So studios can't work on multiple projects at once? If you were disappointed with Beyond, cool, doesn't mean everyone agrees.
By the same side of the coin. Not everyone shares your opinion of Beyond:Two Souls being dissapointing. It may not have been as good as Heavy Rain. But it was very much a good game.
@ Sevir: I said I was disappointed with Beyond? Really? I'd advise to read it again.
My guess would be a PS4 version of Beyond: Two Souls, and a new IP.
I've known about the new IP for sometime but can you clarify where the remaster of Beyond originated from? Was it an insider leak?
I can't remember exactly which 'insider' mentioned it to be honest, but it does make sense when you take into consideration that they had a PS4 engine up and running while they were developing Beyond. In fact they then retrofitted some of the techniques they learned on the PS4 engine to the PS3 engine. So it's not much of a stretch to assume a port is likely.
I held off for that fact really. Was gonna get it cheap on PS3 but with all the 2013 games getting remade for PS4 I kinda had a slight incling that there'd be a PS4 version. Obviously it's not confirmed and if it never is the Ps3 version will be even cheaper :p
I hope it's a game based on that Kara video. Great potential there.
I hope they turn "The Sorcerer" into a game. That was interesting.
I prefer something with that robot Kara they showed a long time ago
that Kara tech demo was awesome so was The Sorcerer
They could do both I suppose. I wouldn't mind if they did a game with a collection of short stories. It would be like Quantic Dream: Pixar Shorts :D Would be really interesting.
I'm dying for a good comedy from them. The sorcerer would be great.
I think comedy would be a fitting genre for David Cage, since his writing is a joke.
He's no Joss Whedon but certainly better than a lot of the trash that comes out of Hollywood these days.
Agreed. The Dark Sorcerer was freaking hilarious. He wrote and directed it.
great news, that actually means we should hear something about this game soon, maybe even Gamescom
It's hard to get excited about a QD game, because no matter how great some elements might be, it will still be spoiled by David Cage's terrible writing and complete inability to tell a coherent story.
Pretty baffled by this too. Considering he prides himself on delivering emotional stories, he is just an awful, awful writer. Playing Heavy Rain last night with my gal (I've played it before), and that scene where Ethan is running around in the mall looking for Jason is just laughably bad. Except it isn't laughable, it's actually a really annoying scene. All he had to do was record Ethan yelling Jason's name 10 more times so it wasn't literally the same damn voiceover each time. Sorry, I had to vent that. Beyond: Two Souls was much better in some respects, but actually in my opinion lost the charm of what made Heavy Rain a decent experience. Rant over now.
That's not even a writing issue. That's a recording/production issue. Come on man.
I hope it's the Kara game called singularity, I really wanna play it.
Huge fan of QD. Can't wait for them to reveal something. Hopefully at Gamescom.
Just stop with the interactive movies. You are embarrassing yourselves.
I'm hoping for a story that involves solving & capturing a serial killer network based around a series of short stories. I guess I liked the premiss of HR.
I love QD games. Very much like telltale games. It's about story and choices. Gameplay is secondary. I wouldn't want all my games like this. But it works for those two companies. QD games also are great visually.
their game is gonna be good i can feel it. (: what if its a morpheus game??
Finally some good news
