PS3 Fanboy in-depth: Qore

Qore definitely looks interesting, but is it worth the price of admission? PS3 Fanboy has gone in depth with the "Digizine" to bring us a taste so that you can decide for yourself. Check out their gallery to see a large number of screenshots of Qore in action, along with some useful info to help you make your mind up. In their opinion, it's a great deal for only $3.

Qore was ok. I watched it. For $3 bucks, not bad. Looking forward to more.

CrashSharc6226d ago

I only wish it was remote play compatible... it seems so perfect for it....

= Betas invites.

That's it. Simple, easy, and quick.

seemed kinda short on content for a 1.5 gig dl anyways not a lot of bonus content tho the soccom beta is worth the cash 2 me....
guess all that hd footage eats up a lot of space doubt all the actual content adds up to much more than 30 mins (not counting ads)

Also the dl is pretty long (1.5 gigs at sony speed) and requires a 5 min install.

I think in time Qore is going to be a wonderful addition to the PSN. I love watching industry news stuff, there are no decent gaming shows on television, so hopefully Qore can help fill that void.Plus the price is right.

rbanke6226d ago

I wasnt sure about it, but i figured what the hell, i'll try it. I was actually pretty happy with it. It feels like a digital magazine, you flip through the 'articles' and get the same type of info as you would from any other magazine except these are videos for the most part.

Doppy6226d ago

I think this is great. It kind of looks like a gaming preview magazine specifically for PS3. You also get to play little mini games, and included in betas (which is always great). I would be even better if it was free, but $25 isn't bad for the annual subscription, and I'm pretty sure their going to add more to Qore as time goes on.

:-P, seems pretty cool. HD Content is always a good thing. :D

wolfehound226226d ago

Sounds decent I subscribed for all the episodes. I'll be checking it out when I get home. Socom beta FTW can't wait till its open.

Imallvol76226d ago

Hell yeah I will plop down 3 bucks for socom beta. I wont even watch the content, lol.

nycredude6226d ago

I subscribed for the year and save like 9 dollars. People, if you want Sony to continue to make your PSN experience better we have to support the things they are trying to do. All this R & D cost a lot of money so we need to help them out!

Besides I think Qore is way better than any magazine subscription since it is more interactive and is in HD, not to mention way cheaper that a $6 magazine.

I can't believe how many people are comparing this to Live Gold!!!

There are alot of very dumb haters on the internet.

The L3gend6226d ago

the first issue of qore..mehhh...but still..had some pretty good stuff..just not a lot..

But i still chose to support it and go for the annual subscription!..

One of the biggest highlights of the playstation network is that its free, yet people still tend to want more and more without contributing a thing...

Support Qore....Support PS Network...Support the system thats making its way to the TOP

Sony Cancels PSN's Qore

Today on the PlayStation Blog , it was revealed that April 2012's edition of Qore would be the last issue released.

Amazingmrbrock4821d ago

Good that whole thing was a waste in a poorly put together package.

They should just focus on putting out smaller individual videos rather than a big downloadable thing thats irritating to use. Making ofs, dev diaries, they could even look to some of the good gaming related series on the net for inspiration.

They could put out little featurettes, lets plays, maybe some reviews. As long as they let them go at it unbiased it would be pretty good. If there could be a show of the caliber of all your history or jon tron's shows.

It would be a relatively cheap way to get people looking at their games and content as easy passive and consumer friendly advertising. Though it would rely on quality content.

Xof4821d ago

It probably would have been more effective if they'd streamed it. A poorly-put together show is nothing. Look at the crap clogging the gaming media today. It's just that no one wants to wait an hour to DOWNLOAD a poor put-together gaming show.

Rupee4821d ago

Yep that's honestly why I never watched those. Never wanted to take the time to download.

LightofDarkness4821d ago

No way, the money should be spent on developing a sit-com. It stars a Sony Executive and a Microsoft Executive, who have to share an apartment in downtown New York for utterly arbitrary reasons. They are frequently visited by Fanboy, a fickle videogame fan who frequently switches sides completely from one exec to the other, depending on whatever wacky scenario is in play for that episode. Antics ensue.

Clearly, this is a gold-mine. Can I have my million dollars NOW, Sony?

come_at_me_bro4821d ago

Please tell me you have a future in television.

DragonKnight4821d ago

That idea is literally the best thing that could happen to tv today. I'm completely serious. Tv is crap these days and I feel like an old man when I saw I miss the 90's and "when I was younger we had better tv shows." It's just the truth though.

DrPepper4821d ago

ehhh never really cared for qore, i only watched like 13 mins of a episode. honestly i have n4g to get all my gaming news, trailers, etc from.
