seemed kinda short on content for a 1.5 gig dl anyways not a lot of bonus content tho the soccom beta is worth the cash 2 me....
guess all that hd footage eats up a lot of space doubt all the actual content adds up to much more than 30 mins (not counting ads)

Also the dl is pretty long (1.5 gigs at sony speed) and requires a 5 min install.

I think in time Qore is going to be a wonderful addition to the PSN. I love watching industry news stuff, there are no decent gaming shows on television, so hopefully Qore can help fill that void.Plus the price is right.

I wasnt sure about it, but i figured what the hell, i'll try it. I was actually pretty happy with it. It feels like a digital magazine, you flip through the 'articles' and get the same type of info as you would from any other magazine except these are videos for the most part.

I think this is great. It kind of looks like a gaming preview magazine specifically for PS3. You also get to play little mini games, and included in betas (which is always great). I would be even better if it was free, but $25 isn't bad for the annual subscription, and I'm pretty sure their going to add more to Qore as time goes on.

I subscribed for the year and save like 9 dollars. People, if you want Sony to continue to make your PSN experience better we have to support the things they are trying to do. All this R & D cost a lot of money so we need to help them out!

Besides I think Qore is way better than any magazine subscription since it is more interactive and is in HD, not to mention way cheaper that a $6 magazine.

I can't believe how many people are comparing this to Live Gold!!!

But i still chose to support it and go for the annual subscription!..

One of the biggest highlights of the playstation network is that its free, yet people still tend to want more and more without contributing a thing...

Qore is just the digital version of the Playstation Underground demos that used to come in the mail (assuming you subscribed to it)

First off, Qore isn't a way of "milking" people like many of the complainers (mostly xbox fans) are trying to make you believe.

Qore is a digital magazine. Anyone that used to subscribe to the Playstation Underground back in the PS1 days should be easily familiar with Qore. Qore is a DIGITAL version of Playstation Underground.

For those of you that don't know what Playstation Underground was. It's a subscription to get disc magazines mailed to you filed with demos, exclusive editorials, codes, etc.

It doesn't effect the PSN network in ANY way. You will still get your Thursday updates with psn with the demos, videos, add-ons, etc.

Qore is just an additional part of PSN that you don't have to get if you don't want to. Qore will have it's own demos, videos, etc.

And considering that most of the 360 games you can't even play online multi-player WITHOUT a gold account, MS is the one milking people, not Sony. You can still do EVERYTHING on PSN regardless of whether you get Qore or not.

And as for the complainers about the ads, xbox live gold has ads, I don't see you complaining about that though.

i'm curious, because a few people have commented on unskipable adverts, but in the story, it said that after about 10-15 seconds, the ads are skippable.

in either case, i didn't get to download QORE until late, so i haven't gotten a chance to watch it yet.

from this well done write up, it sounds interesting, and has a slick interface.

i like the option of being able to press the Square button on an advert that you like to be taken to the sponsor page for that product (ie, MGS4), and get some more info. what print magazine does THAT (i mean, you see an ad for Soul Calibur IV in a print mag, and all you get is the ad. in QORE, you see an ad for Soul Calibur IV, press Square, and get taken to the Soul Calibur IV sponsor page, where you can watch a trailer, and read more info on the game. sure beats screenshots).

the whole idea is unique and interesting, and honestly, looking at the games that are hitting the PS3 in the next 6-12 months, there's going to be some kick@ss "issues" of QORE coming (i'm personally looking forward to the issues covering God of War 3, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, White Knight Story, Infamous, and Final Fantasy XIII; i imagine QORE would have exclusive gameplay vids, and in HD to boot, which beats having to wait for places like G4TV and Spike to post low-quality vids on their site or network).

QORE really can only get better as far as i'm concerned. and $3 an "issue" is quite a few bucks less than what i pay for the few print mags i glance at every few months, when i see a feature on a game that interests me.

but, like always on the net, people are making such a mountain out of this mole hill. i mean, damn, Sony releases an online magazine, and the net explodes with criticism and negativity.

as gamers, we claim we want new, interesting, fresh ideas, and when we get them, whether through games (ie, Psychonauts and Beyond Good and Evil) or through services (HOME and QORE), we refuse to support them because of some perceived "slight" against us and our "gamer integrity," then go back to b*tching and moaning when said game publisher/developer/manufactue r/etc refuses to attempt new things again and goes back to producing the status quo.

give QORE a chance. it's new, it's issue one, and it's a rather unique and "innovative" idea. i guarantee Nintendo fans wouldn't scoff at this if a similar service was offered via Wii, and i think it'd be a great idea for XBox LIVE as well, as i don't follow much 360 news, and Microsoft is pretty tight-lipped about what the rest of their plans are for the next year, so, whether or not their equivalent of QORE would be self-serving or not (and, like Sony, and Nintendo, it WOULD BE), as an Xbox 360 owner, i'd LIKE to know.

i mean, wouldn't 360 owners have prefered to NOT have to buy the $60 Crackdown in order to have gotten into the Halo 3 beta? outside of free, wouldn't they have rather paid $3 for access to the Halo 3 beta, and ALSO got an online magazine that covered what was coming to the 360 in the approaching months (ie, news about Banjo, Alan Wake, Fable 2, and Too Human)? hell, I WOULD. sure beats paying $60 for a game that many of the purchasers weren't even INTERESTED IN in the first place (i actually LIKED Crackdown, and got it for Crackdown, not for the Halo 3 beta; i'm not a Halo fan).

qore for the beta invites. 24.99 for a whole year to get beta invites is not too much for me. hell i pay 50 bucks a year for my 360 im sure i will prefer qore adverts to the screaming lil kids on live anyday

Future publishing is the shiet! Anyone remember "Computer Music" magazine from the UK? Free demo discs every months with software, tracks, samples. I still have the cd's but most of the old software samplers and instruments only work with Windows 95.

XBOX Live is $50 dollars a year yet "Gold" members still had to be a paid IGN member/Fileplanet to enter in the Battlefield: Bad Company beta. Would you rather pay live and IGN or would you rather fork up $3.00/episode or $25.00 yr.
