Sometimes graphics arent enough. Art style is important, which is somewhat bland in this game

You forgot to tell us you were being sarcastic.

(I hope.)

Edit: The art style is incredible. That's one of the most talked about aspects of the game.

im not. art style is very important. the order has amazing graphics, but its bland in art style. games cannot have photorealistic faces for characters, and instead come off as a slightly cartoonish like. slightly.

yeah, but they should have at least put in campaign co op. I understand not every game should have multiplayer even though this could be a gears killer/competitor. (humans vs. Lichans deathmatch) would be sweet.

they should've put campaign co op and I think that is going to hit them in the sales department. No replay value but more importantly we like to play together not sitting alone playing in solitude. I don't get why sony cant get that into their square headz.

Look how good last of us, uncharted 2, and uncharted 3 did....all had multiplayer.

xbox shines in this department. If i have a computer/ai partner like sulley, elena, or the hot spanish chick,.....how come a friend cant jump in and play too. Its soooo stupid thats why those people are there. Like dom in gears of war.

get it together sony.

As a game this has got to be one of the most atmospheric games out there, the graphics capture the era of old London beautifully while blending in a modern twist (not an easy thing to do)

The Order is looking like another great addition to the Playstations long list of first party games http://www.google.co.uk/img...

I think the art direction is part of why the game looks so good. The art is fantastic in my opinion.

Anyway, I'd probably say that Uncharted 4 is the PS4's biggest game in 2015, but I'm still super excited and impressed by what I have seen of The Order 1886.

I agree just look at Ryse.

KUV19771574d ago

The art style is strong in this one! Much dark, such gritty, very atmosphere.

ArchangelMike1574d ago (Edited 1574d ago )

I think you need to consider the overall 'tone' of the game a developer is going for. The Order1886 has a tone that harks back to the smog ridden Victorian England of Jack the Rippers day. It is that tone that the art style is trying to convey.

To say that you don't like the art style because of the tone - i.e. that it looks too bland; is to misunderstand the era and mood that the devs are trying to convey.

Why don't we just accept this game for what the devs are trying to create instead of this constant stream of judgement and criticism when the game isnt out for another 7 months!

IndoAssassin1573d ago (Edited 1573d ago )

That is the thing I don't understand.

The developers have a vision of their game and they have been open about what their game is about. It's linear, qte, cutscene story driven game.

Yet all the hate I see is like people have already played the game and feel like the developer lied to them or something about what the game is about.

Yah I get it, you don't like QTE, cutscenes to tell a story, linear gameplay, and hide and shoot mechanics.

Great then this game is not for you.
So goto their forum, tell them you don't like these gameplay elements, and then vote with your wallet.

Maybe if they get enough complaints in their forum where they are more likely to look than here, and they don't sell enough, you'll get your wish, and I won't get to enjoy this franchise, because believe it or not I prefer linear, cinematic games over open world do whatever you want games.

Why you ask? Because a story driven cinematic game is going to keep my attention longer than an open world do whatever you want game. And the main reason I buy games is to finish them.

The trolls are coming out of their smelly caves i see

60FramesPerSecond1573d ago

so because i claim a game has a bland art style, i must be a troll? god what is wrong with you? seriously? my opinion is mine.

I'm attracted to this universe already. The victorian era with werewolves/monsters is awesome and with this amazing graphics this game will be a blast

I don't really get hyped for games. I just see this as a game that i want to be good, so i can buy it. So far, so good.

pedrami911574d ago (Edited 1574d ago )

Any questions about anything new regarding gameplay or game length quickly changes into story telling and CG graphics.

Any opportunity to "wow" us or "blow our minds" are wasted by talking about delivering a compelling story and quick transitions between gameplay and cutscene.

They should reveal something new every month leading to it's release date. That would cerainly help to raise/keep hype going.
