AI will probably happen someday, and when it does things will start changing very quickly. Will we see a robot apocalypse? The integration of man and machine? Or simply a new sentient race with which we need to co-exist? Nobody knows, but when it starts there will be a lot of nervous people and just as many opportunistic ones. Read Only Memories is an adventure game set in the New San Francisco of 2064, and you're a reporter who's just woken up to find Turing, the world's first true AI, sitting in your apartment. Life is going to get very interesting, very quickly.
Barbara writes: "Every now and then I enjoy playing mystery and investigation games, you know, release my detective skills for a bit, just to see if I could handle being the next Sherlock Holmes. And I am pretty sure you do too -- otherwise, you wouldn’t be reading this article on mystery and investigation games -- so let’s get right to my favorite ones so far!"
MidBoss has partnered with IDW Publishing to expand the Read Only Memories universe with an all-new comic book series, set to begin releasing in monthly installments starting December 2019.
From ShackNews: "Read Only Memories is a unique twist on the point-and-click adventure game, taking cues from the cyberpunk aesthetic and style of the classic Hideo Kojima-helmed Snatcher. Since its initial release on PC, it's been ported to most systems, including the PlayStation Vita, but until now it hadn't been given a mobile port. Now, mobile players have a chance to strike out on their own to explore Neo San Francisco while on the go. Read Only Memories: Type-M is an excellent, downsized version of the game that works well as a mobile title. If you've heard a lot about Read Only Memories and want a chance to finally sit down and play it, this is your best shot, since you can take it with you."
