Battlefield : Hardline - Beta First impressions : A BF4 DLC at full price

CanadianGamer writes : "EA and Visceral Games announced their new Battlefield franchise game at this year's E3 on June 9th and also took the gaming world by surprise with the announcement of the immediate availability of the closed Beta for Battlefield : Hardline available on PS4 and PC platforms. The game itself is scheduled to release this fall.

It was quite surprising to see the new Battlefield game entering the Beta stage as their latest game, Battlefield 4 has not even broke the one year release barrier. The new game features the "War on crime" theme as gamers can play as either cops or crooks. It sure looks exciting and we, at Canadiangamer.net have you covered as we got our hands on a copy of the closed beta. Please take note that we play-tested the PS4 Beta."

Exactly this! It's an expansion pack at best, and for that reason I for one am not going to pay full price for it. I've been burned way too badly by the BF4 launch I just can't trust that Hardline will work out the gate and be worth full price.

I've said this in another thread, but playing the Hardline Beta and then the Destiny Alpha side by side, the difference is like comparing a PS2 to PS4. Qualitatively, in every aspect Destiny shows just how mediocre Hardline is, especially for a full priced title.

Really, you bought BF4? BF4 was nothing but an expansion pack for BF3 at best.

Hardline looks different enough to actually be a new Battlefield game (especially since a different dev is working on it).

Aside from all the problems BF4 has regarding stability, everything about was it was tweaked and improved over BF3 (UI, feel of the weapons, more destruction ect)

The Hardline Beta feels exactly the same as BF4 with its own little twist on the formula, it feels like an expansion similar to BFBC2: Vietnam.

LackTrue4K4013d ago

i hurd, Hard line has it's own DLC/premium....

EA has to be joking if they thing people/gamers will pay for it.........?!

psman0124013d ago

DLC will sell like hot cakes, I'm sure of it. It always happens. It's ea for gods sake haha

ArchangelMike4013d ago

Yup it most probably will. EA will release DLC with Premium DLC that you have to pay for!!! Unfourtinately gamers are like crack whores. They'll sell their mothers just to get another fix. smh.

People should stop saying it a DLC it nothing like BF4. Does BF4 have cops and robbers gameplay trying to steal money, no it doesn't, does BF4 have weapons like baseball bats and police batons, no it doesn't. I could go on but it certainly not BF4.

Furthermore with your whole destiny VS HL debate it bothers me that Bungie teamed up with activision because there are COD elements in the game now like a throwing knife and the fact that in halo you could see your legs but you can't in Destiny (yes I do love when the smaller detail is in the game). Yes I know it a alpha test but I wait and see what the final product is like, but activision and good games don't go into the same sentence anymore.

I don't agree at all. Hardline feels and plays like a full blown series update. Not DLC for BF4.

BX814013d ago

Update or not, you don't crap on your fans with BF4 and not even a year later say hey were back! For the most part bf4 is fixed but still has issues. I'm not confident that bf4 is gonna play smooth every time so I know damn well I'm not gonna throw another $60 at the bf series till they show and prove. Just my opinion though.

JsonHenry4013d ago

You must have had a lot more problems than I did with BF4. :/

BX814013d ago

Possibly. I played it for the 360 and had no issues. Then I upgraded to the xb1 version and had no problems for the 1st week. After that it was a mess. It's been stable for the most part lately though.

Starbucks_Fan4013d ago

I'll wait till it's $35-$40. I'm excited for it though.

memots4013d ago

+15$ per dlc pack and or $50 for premium ... No thanks , not this time ea

cyclindk4013d ago

My sentiments exactly. BF4 still isnt 100 %. And they want 60.00 for an expansion pack?

And 60 for premium on that probably?! Ha, i still havent, nor will i, pay for premium on bf4 because of all the screwups!

Consider hardline a pass and certainly its premium not to mention bf4 premium. Lost 180 dollars, enjoy.

Absolutely insane. Man I'm hope they land on their feet EA needs to get the shit together badly....

This is why this industry has slow releases and none compelling games.

Why would anyone willingly work in the VG industry or specifically for one of these globocorp organizations that put you in constant fear of losing your livelihood based on terrible choices made by idiotic management, not the people with talent making the actual games?
