PS4Daily: "The game streaming service feature no noticeable input lag, and the picture quality was excellent"
Sony has recruited Bungie's head of revenue Jaremy Rich to head up its live-service gaming division, Rich has announced on social media.
Please do not put Destiny’s monetization into Sony’s first party games. The monetization is what’s driving players away from Destiny.
I mean, this person made some pretty bad decisions at Bungie. I hope they've learned from them because I definitely don't see those type of ideas as good for PlaySation in general.
Ps5 gamers in 2023 seemed to play more live service types of games, so regardless to how people feel about them, numbers don’t lie and Sony is going where the money is. I mean look at the excitement around Helldivers2, people are showing that they want live service games.
How do you kill a franchise that already been killed?
Destiny’s grind, cash-in-on-playbass-cha-Ching, and pop-culture-insertion mainstream-me-too bs totally killed any rep Bungie had. Sony/Bungie, if you are doing this to ward-off players, it’s already working.
Sony has patented to add multiple dialogue modes to let players switch between how many conversations with NPCs they want in the game.
Sony is like the only ones outta the 3 that has atuff like like this pop up changing thing in ways.
Genuine Enabling Technology was seeking damages, claiming the tech allowing PlayStation consoles and controllers to communicate infringes its rights.
Sounds like patent trolling they tried the same thing against Nintendo with the same pattern.
Motion and control input traversing over higher and lower frequencies seperate from each other allowing the controller to do both
So to recoup the money Genuine is going to take on Nintendo or Microsoft next. I hate patent lawyers they are some of the worst bottom feeders out there.
Yes it does and it's an ace up Sony's sleeve with their TV's having the service built in. Sony could be corning the streaming gaming market like Netflix for movies.
I can't get mine to work. Whenever I go to boot up a game, I get the error message "Cannot play this game. Please Try Again", or something to that affect. Can anyone help me out?
I'm really hoping this service works like a charm because it has so much potential. There's so many old PS1 and PS2 games I would love to play again and i missed out on the latter of PS3 so something like this would be perfect for me. I can see how it wouldn't appeal to a lot of console gamers but I can see it being a hit for casuals and old school gamers like myself.
PS TV has got me the most interested and I'm also interested in their streaming TV service. I know it's practically blasphemy to talk about TV among the gaming community but I just think it's a really cool feature for not much money. Heck, cable companies been robbing us for years so you never know this could change everything.
I thought there was input lag. I have tried all the first player games which aren't many. The lag input lag was terrible. We are talking milliseconds, but you can feel it. I had to go into options and tuen down the sensitivity in those games.
I'm still not sold on this yet:
"there was no discernible lag. None at all."
I can tell you why, they are most likely streaming over a 1gbs local LAN link seeing as it was at E3. Need more feedback from people who have access to the beta before i'm even close to being convinced a game like SF4 can be played over your average ADSL or cable line.
