I'm surprised it's only 10% to be honest. You'd think it would be much more.

Not really, the details and graphics are more in line with the PC compared to what you see between PC and last gen and the architecture is more dev friendly. But because of the better hardware they try make their games bigger and more feature rich so that naturally costs more, but assets such as textures are created in higher levels anyway for the PC and get downscalled to the specific platforms. Even if you would make a game only for last gen you would create naturally higher quality assets and afterwards downscale them to be usable for the system. Not sure how that relates to games that are cross gen and PC because for these they should cost roughly the same if they have the same features.

"We have to have seamless online offline, we have to have companion apps, we have to make servers that are online 24/7 and we have to make sure all this works perfectly when we launch,” said Guillemot.

You can do different kinds of games that are adapted to next-gen and you need to have the money to make that work"

once they drop support for old gen , it will be much cheaper , im sure creating a game for either platform cost much more then creating a silly droid/iphone app , not sure why he complain about the dedicated servers , ubisoft has had that since uplay was created..

I remember Capcom saying a very high number something like 400% more than last gen.It mite have been more or less then that but the number was high none the less.

If ubisoft goes up in price then i will boycott them, because they always try to shaft their fanbase. I'm tired of this crap with there overly hyped average titles lately.

I'm sorry what overhyped titles are you talking about, Child of Light? Great RPG, or Watch Dogs? Very good open world game.

ssj271611d ago

is costing us the gamer's more now games come with bugs and that is priceless plus all the dlc.. now games come incomplete only have 10 maps instead of 16 and etc etc..

Ubisoft should use that extra 10% and make games not absolutely full of silly glitches.

Well maybe you shouldn't have invested in a great looking E3 trailer for Watch Dogs only to remove the actual crap in which you spent time on.

10% price increase, surprising!

pat_11_51611d ago

I never thought of it that way. Is Ubisoft one of the company's charging more for their titles?
