The Face Of Evil: A Look At Ubisoft's Controversial Villain

Ubisoft Montreal may have worked itself into a corner. With Far Cry 3, the studio created an unhinged murder named Vaas Montenegro. This pirate leader was, unpredictable yet so charismatic that fans loved hating him. How could Ubisoft Montreal possibly up the ante with Far Cry 4? Their answer is a man named Pagan Min.

They do make good bad guys at Ubi at least since the last one. Not really sure why gamers nowadays mostly have a problem with a characters race, sex or sexuality. Some gamers remembered a time when it was all about the gameplay . I never complained that mario is an overweight plumber nor that he is italian.

On topic, i think this bad guy is kinda cool cuz hes unique.. so calm & psycho @ the same time.. I did think he was gay when i 1st seen him but after the trailer, i knew he was jus different from your average maniac.. Cant wait for this game!!! PS4 all the way

I really didnt see anyone having a problem. Some gamers just prefer to play as certain characters. For instance I never pick a female character if given the choice, or I wouldn't want to play as a gay character. It's not because I'm against female characters in games, tomb raider is an excellent game. I just prefer playing as a male character. As for a gay character, I don't want to play as one, if I know he's gay then the devs made it an obvious thing through character interactions.

Edit: I know he's not a playable character. I was just commenting in general. Just for the record if the main villain was gay it's not a big deal to me. Evil and psycho is a bad combination no matter what!

I don't care if he is gay or not. Far Cry has gotten better over the years and FarCry 3 really tipped the series forward. Far Cry 4 is going to be awesome regardless.

Without an actual transcription or audio its very hard to discern whether she was confirming that or just saying "yes" for an entirely different reason. Also she didn't explicitly say "Yes, he is Gay", what she said was "Yes, we are not releasing that information at this time." Which was apparently all the confirmation the author needed. Didn't need any follow up, just "confirmed".

That, was absolutely the worst kind of reporting ever. And pointing out all the "penises" and "gay rainbows"? I mean WTF? I seriously hope that isn't the only proof that Ubi confirmed the villain was gay. Because this guy was on some crusade looking for gay symbols in a picture.

It would be nice if this villain is actually in the game for a good amount of time. Vaas was int he youtube video series more than he was int he game, and he was fleshed out way more on youtube than he was in the game. I hope they don;t do that to this guy, Pagan Min, too.

predictable really. It's a shame that the only way some devs think they can get the sales they're after is by violence of this nature- and of course this hardly applies to just games. Makes you wonder what ubisoft's next villain will do in a bid to delight us in the most shocking way. Perhaps we'll get to see some poor unsuspecting goon sawn in half whilst simultaneously having their bollocks stabbed repeatedly with chopsticks all the while bathing in a bath of acid. Violence in games is not a bad thing of course but there's surely a point when its a bit much

I like playing as Male Characters i don't like to play as female's it's kinda fake in a fighting game. but Tomb Raider passed she was kinda like a man so that is cool. As far as a Straight Character i don't want to play as one.

I would love to play as a Gay or Lesbian instead of a ugly bigot.
