What if Nintendo was to buy Megaman?

"All us gamers have certain idols in the gaming world that we all know, will never forget and hope to always see. Mario, Link, Master Chief, Lara Croft, Sonic, Crash Bandicoot, Cloud Strife, Pacman, the black mage sprite from Final Fantasy, and more. Let’s not forget someone who hasn’t gotten some real love lately even from his parent company Capcom. Today folks… we’re talking about Megaman!"

Looking at Mega Man's final smash is enough to tell you that Nintendo cares enough about the blue bomber to give him a proper home, if it ever came down to that.

I don't want to buy a Nintendo console just so that I could play a Mega Man game. No.

wonderfulmonkeyman1589d ago

Yeah, well guess what?
We had to buy a PS3 to play games like Bayonetta.

There's no point in complaining; just save up and get the exclusives regardless of console instead of letting the console war soldier mentality affect your judgement.

If Nintendo owned it I would hope Treasure developed it for them.

I would also like to see a Platinum Games effort.

chaoslh1589d ago

There will be playable Mario and Miis.

Xof1590d ago

I wouldn't care. Nintendo has enough 2D platformers.

And are new Megaman games really that exciting for anyone? Isn't Might no.9 where all the love should be?

KonsoruMasuta1590d ago (Edited 1589d ago )

Yeah, I'm excited about Mighty no. 9 but it's not MegaMan. I would still love to see MegaMan make a return.

Also, MegaMan has expanded past 2D platformers.

Xof1589d ago

Really? To... what, then? Shooters? 3D action-adventure? I've only ever played the old Megaman games on the SNES.

Kevlar0091589d ago

I liked the ZX series for DS, especially the first one. The art style and Metroidvania style gameplay is well done. I'd love to see a future installment with a bigger environment, cities, etc.

wonderfulmonkeyman1589d ago

Wow, so you never got to play Megaman Legends?
I can't speak for everyone, but I think you missed out on something special there...
Same goes for games like Megaman Zero and Megaman ZX.

thehobbyist1589d ago

Yeah, but here's the thing. Capcom's obvious hatred for the super fighting robot cancelled three games that WEREN'T 2D platformers.
- Megaman Legends 3 (Action-RPG)
- A Retro Studios Megaman
- A whole new Megaman project that didn't even get past concept art

Unfortunately, Monster Hunter bailed Capcom out AGAIN so buying them would be pretty costly.

WeAreLegion1590d ago

That would be cool. To be honest, I'd like to see several Capcom franchises in better hands.
