With all the hubbub about the inclusion (or lack of thereof) of female characters in video games, looks like we won’t have to worry about that in the upcoming PS4 exclusive Bloodborne.
I'm officially done, Bloodbourne will be pure unadulterately amazing!
I guess you could say that I'm Soul'd on this game
Ba dum bum tsss
Slow Clap also ?
@ XiNarutoUzumaki well I'm sorry i was just kidding with him ! and you know .. I think you and him are the same user !! just sayin
We aren't the same.
They're battle buddies.
they are not the same but they are boyfriends they kiss each other on the low
Another scathing indictment against Ubisoft. LOL games have allowed for female avatars for YEARS. There was an article yesterday that pointed to customization as something they were hoping for in Bloodbourne. Well, there it is.
No it's not. This literally doesn't matter. Especially because FromSoft have always had this option so it would only matter if they DIDN'T include it, which at this point I'm wishing they hadn't just to make all the people who think this is an issue show just how immature they really are.
Strong independent black woman confirmed!!!
"character customization is one of the most fun aspects" Totally agree with that, I did wonder if we could select different armour etc
I hope they fix the character models for females. In their previous games, it looked like they slapped breast on a male model and called it a day.
Don't people do that today, in real life?
Sounds like the fable games.
That's the solution to inclusion NihonjinChick. In fact that's what people want Ubisoft to do just because. You're one of the few people that would prefer an actual, fully and properly designed female model. Everyone else that complains about such things only want inclusion for the sake of it to the point where reskinning the male model is all it takes to shut them up.
None of the character models looked human, so it seems kind of pointless to go after specific faults.
Also, the skin tones were strange, too. You had this really white/blueish tone - almost sickly in nature.
I hated that whenever I tried to make a character as black skinned as Straid, you can't make the cheeks completely black. They'll always have red in them. It's really hard to get the skin tone that you want just right.
Hm.. playing as a chick in this type of game doesn't do much for me, need a manly war-torn man, may make an older guy like Clint Eastwood, he'll squint the "YOU DIED" screen away.
I started a new character for Dark Souls 2, my fourth, chose a women this time, Big Brenda, she's a beast of women, awful makeup, I see too many dudes whilst playing DS2 I thought I may aswel make a women, then when I invade/kill the host it's all that more funnier when I gesture/troll them
I had a female primary character for Metal Gear Online, felt right you know? but seeing the blood and guts here, seems like the type of game you'd make an war-torn man, I could be wrong of course, I know a few chicks that can tear some top notch guys apart. If it has game play advantages like being slightly faster or thinner/harder to hit, that would be awesome, otherwise I'm making a old bugger that's going to be right at home in hell. Ha!
I got invaded and killed by a chick in a bikini, high heels and 2 poison whips. It was a good fight, but she killed me.
My favourite DS2 character that I made is Astraea. A faith build female wearing the Saints Set and really heavy on the lightning damage. She wrecks anything that comes her way. I actually tend to play female characters more in the Souls games (exception being Demon's Souls due to armor) because they tend to look like they have more character than the male characters do, which is odd considering they use the exact same models and animations, but maybe it's a subconscious thing.
Female characters in this kinda game is the way to go...some of the best armor is female clothing and id much rather have a female wearing male armor than a big burly crossdressing man...lol
Woohoo, controversy averted!
That means our characters will look grotesque-ly disfigured no matter how much time we put into the creator.
Is this a stab at Ubisoft for AC U not having a female character?
This is great news.
Demon souls and dark souls have always had that so no big deal. Destiny character model though. The chick looks so real and weirdly enought attractive.
I really wish devs wouldn't waste development time and costs just to include a playable female character. Put that extra effort into fixing bugs and making a longer campaign.
come on dude really? u have to have male and female as an option to any rpg otherwise it's just.. it just wrong. sony always gives their own exclusives much more time than lets say ea and money shouldn't be a problem when sony's helping u right?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I remember Demon's Souls having that option too?
Yes, all of souls games have that option.
Oh right lol. It's been a long time since I played Demon and Dark.
but... if it's anything like the souls games, you have always been able to play as a female character....
I actually tend to play female characters in games in which you can create your own. My Dragonborn, Shepard, Grey Warden and Boss of The Saints are all fems, and the Souls series is not an exception. I'm actually wondering if the extra animation they were talking about includes different walking animation or emotes for the females, that'd be boss.
I know that most of us may be annoyed with all the fuss about gender equality in games, but if we look at this more objectively, it will surely move the industry forward. Having more females as lead heroes and not simply damsels in distress would be quite refreshing, don't you thnk?
i think there should be a female lead hero only if it makes sense and if the producer(or who ever made the story) wants it that way not because we demand it so just do what ever u feel is right developers
The cute gals from the Underworld movies will fit right in to this game.
thats good news :)
I'll most likely create a female character, I tend to do that because the guys I create look wierd.
More options the better nice so that everyone can make that toon that they like...
From software need to hire this guy do blood borne musical scores. https://www.youtube.com/wat...
