They got the Map pack for free?

I know its common for PC gamers to get DLC free, but when your charging for them on consoles(espically when one comes a month after the other) then its just an outrage

I will never buy DLC from IW or Activision again.

BrotherNick5830d ago

Umm...they've always been free on computer...why all my shooters are for the pc.

AllroundGamer5830d ago

yeah its pretty funny, that its still an MS platform, but you don't have to pay for playing multiplayer or for additional official content...

Bolts5830d ago (Edited 5830d ago )

The PC isn't a MS platform, anymore than it is a Google platform. Its the PC. This is what makes PC gaming great, its open source and isn't owned by anyone, hence you can't get riped off.

PC gamers won't tolerate microtransactions just as Console gamers won't tolerate wait times.

It's earlier than expected because it's a leaked patch.

O well, won't be long until the official site catches up and releases it.

Seriously for all those saying that PC gamers always get DLC free...so why cant console owners get the same privilege as well...especially considering that these companies are making the most money off of console gamers.

As far as im concerned console owners are being exploited with all these little $5 add-ons here and there and as long as we continue to support them we will continue to be exploited. Its gotten so ridiculous that developers are actually leaving stuff out of their games so that they can charge for it later.

You may say oh its just 5 bucks whats the big deal...well the big deal is that I paid 60 bucks for ur game and ur charging me an extra cash for stuff ur giving to PC owners free of charge when they most likely downloaded ur game in the 1st place. Theres no justice in that.

Bolts5830d ago

To be a console gamer is to be exploited pure and simple. PC gamers can create their own maps, which in some cases are better than these so called professional maps, hence why these are free. Oh and they'll be getting free maps generated by the map making contest too. I'm sure those will be coming to the console sometime in the future...for a price.

A pirated game won't work for online play, so patches like this are useless to somebody who pirated the game.

cruckel5830d ago

For the console reason, i remember when they were trying to get the CoD4 maps on XBL, they wanted them to be free, but Microsoft required a price for them, which Developers don't get to see much of.

I specifically remember Epic trying to put their maps up for free on XBL, but Microsoft wouldn't let them, same with Valve and everyone else.

If anything, blame Microsoft and Sony for charging a digital Stocking fee.

@3.2...

Yes, COD4 did not sell for PC. Every player that you see on the PC playing COD4 has a pirated copy.

Damn, man. Get your mind together. :@

Bolts5829d ago

You can only play the pirate version on "cracked" servers. You won't be able to join normal servers.

@3.2

Alot of people have it pirated and play online, dunno why IW wont step in and fix it.

@3.4

Not true, i bought it xD. But 2 of my friends pirated it and 1 other friend bought it. But i mostly play on cracked servers so i can play with them. =].

xodee485829d ago

Glad i bought CoD4 for pc rather than console, though i only get 30-40fps on my damn hardware!

XDefiant players are unable to play the game as Ubisoft's COD beater finally goes live

The game goes live, the servers go down, a story as old as time.
