Ready At Dawn Director Says The Order 1886 Has Tons of DLC and Sequel Potential

Nerdacy: "Ready At Dawn was at E3 2014 showing off their new PS4 game, The Order 1886, and after playing through the demo, Mansoor got a chance to speak briefly with Director of Operations Marc Turndorf about the game. We’ll be posting the entire interview later this week, but we wanted to share this snippet where he talks about sequel potential."

He does nothing BUT this ...that is why

Jack The Ripper DLC, please. With a fictional twist.

Hellsvacancy1746d ago (Edited 1746d ago )

That's actually a really good idea, email them

Utalkin2me1746d ago

I agree. Maybe dr jekyll and mr hyde too.

Septic1746d ago

They've had quite a few requests for that by the way. I saw that in an interview and someone asked them that, and the guy was quite coy about it.

You never know, it could happen. Would be a very good take on it.

GarrusVakarian1746d ago

I should.

They could depict him as one of those Lycans. And you are tasked by the London police to track him down and kill him.

Curse my over-active imagination.

Hellsvacancy1746d ago

I could very well see it happening, it would suit the game very much

That sounds like awesome DLC goodness already!

Dirtnapstor1746d ago

Ah, and build it similar to the movie From Hell whereas he was a contractor of the government... with a monster twist.

Porcelain_Chicken1746d ago

Outta curiosity, how would you feel about a Spring-heeled Jack DLC?

Would be my personal fave outta the 2 Jacks lol. The Victorian setting feels right!

I'm glad they are confident in this game but it hasn't been getting praise for anything besides its looks

dodgemoose1746d ago

Well apart from the developers of the game itself, no one's experienced the story as a whole, merely individual sections. I hope, and suspect, that alongside the graphical fidelity, the story will prove to be one of this game's strongest assets. Has it revolutionised the third person shooter in terms of gameplay? Nope, but I don't see why that has to be such a bad thing, which clearly the media wants us to believe. If it works well, then great. Not every title needs to be innovative in terms of core gameplay as long as it doesn't take a step back.

GameDev11746d ago

They haven't really been showing enough gameplay to go on to be honest, really won't judge until I see the full game. Seems linear with open space just for the demo, not that it is bad.

akaFullMetal1746d ago

I believe they have won several E3 awards so far, on twitter they announced getting 6 E3 awards the other day.

GarrusVakarian1746d ago (Edited 1746d ago )

Well you would say that, because you would only pay attention to the negatives, being an Xbox fanboy and all....

Downplaying failed. See you in the next Sony article.

Edit: Aren't you the same guy who praised Ryse for it's gameplay a few months ago? http://www.memecreator.org/...

Raf1k11746d ago

This is slowly dropping off my radar to be honest.

Sounds awesome, certainly looks fantastic, just worried about these comments about lack of actual gameplay.

barb_wire1746d ago

How about just releasing this one for now before you start talking about a sequel.

dodgemoose1746d ago

If you actually read the article you'll see they're focusing on this game. The director was simply asked about sequel potential by the interviewer.

Also, everything requires forward planning. Sony executives will already be discussing the PS5. It's also clear these guys want to make a franchise out this game, and honestly, if they manage to pull this one off I suspect they will.
