Sony teased E3 attendees Wednesday with a new trailer for the PlayStation 4 version of its massively multiplayer online “Planetside 2” and a promise that it will launch for the PS4 sometime this year, but we got to see the MMO first-person shooter up close with Sony Online Entertainment Senior Art Director Tramell Isaac. Reflecting the extreme pride of the title's development team, Tramell gave IBTimes a hands-on PlayStation 4 demo of “Planetside 2,” which is currently available for the PC.
Planetside 2’s future is uncertain as the IP was sold for a relatively low sum to a company with no history.
Was such a cool concept back in the day - shame that it never really took off like it probably could have with more support
The last Live Letter is done and we were all surprised at the announcement of a delay to the release of FFXIV's Endwalker expansion, we got some more details about the MMORPG's new PvP Crystal Conflict mode, and some system details. Then we talk about PlanetSide 2's new continent and LOTRO's new expansion before wrapping up with some good changes for Ubisoft and Blizzard... but are they enough? All that and more on this week's Always Online!
PlanetSide 2 is going to be getting its next major expansion this December. This new addition, titled “Expedition: Oshur” will be the first addition in almost seven years to bring an entirely new continent to the game.
Cant wait to see how it looks and plays i will definitely give it a try.
Been waiting for this for ages... My PC sucks for playing this game and I hate mouse and keyboard. Been promoting this game hard on my clans site trying to draw interest in an outfit(clan) before game starts. Got some curious, but Im worried this game might have slow adoption rate since even in thread people where not entirely convinced it was even gonna be something they would play, especially with games like destiny coming out. I just hope delay with optimizing the UI and controls doesn't push this to 2015. One of the few games I'm looking forward to this year.
they better have enough servers
It was supposed to be out Spring 2014. It's now summer and all they have to say is sometime in 2014?
Play numbers have decreased on PC for a reason.
The game is really boring after a week or so. Map size is 100% irrelevant when ALL the action takes place around key buildings/structures, and the game literally turns into a hallway shooter, except you have 500 people trying to get through and defend the same hallway.
It's such a boring game.
