Jeff Rubenstein Hints at PSN/PlayStation.Blog Integration

I looks like Jeff Rubenstein hinted at further integration of the PLAYSTATION Network today.

Will the introduction of Qore and hints of a soon-to-be-released new firmware correspond with other improvements to Sony's communication/collaboration tools? I can't say for sure - but it's an exciting month to be a PS3 owner.

another way to find out gaming news weeks later. But I'm sure its good for the casuals.

StalkingSilence6226d ago

Are you referring to the information bar on PS3, the PlayStation.Blog itself, or the site PlayStation LifeStyle.net?
I don't see how the story submitted here implies anything about the speed at which gaming news content is delivered. Maybe you were referring to the Qore announcements today. I don't know. Please clarify.

Also guys, I have to apologize if you get a 404 error.. We are having some problems with the site right now...

If you get a 404 error, head to our old site sev1512.wordpress.com for now...

I will update this later tonight when the site is back to normal.

StalkingSilence6225d ago

@sev1512,
the site appears to be working for me and has been all day.
thanks for your hard work on the back-end though.

I am referring to the general speed it takes the PSN blog to release news that GAMESPOT/IGN/1up has already covered.

Seems like we should hear it from the horses mouth first.

It seems that he is not allowed to say anything to the public yet. But then he goes on and say that is going to be an exciting month for ps3 owners. he piratically confirmed that something big is going to be released this month. so its possible that the firmware could be released this month.

StalkingSilence6226d ago

read the actual story. sorry the description was confusing.

okay i see thank you for the clear up.

StalkingSilence6225d ago

Sorry for being confusing in the first place. I went ahead and updated the story to reflect this. Hopefully people aren't still misled.

Also, I wish I could edit the description and change the first word from "I" to "It" - man, that's bothering me. So many errors!

Kholinar6226d ago

I just wish they'd integrate email functionality into XMB. I'd really love to be able to send a pic/video taken on the pseye straight from the pictures/videos section. It's a pain to go to the browser and sign-in and add attachment, etc.

InMyOpinion6225d ago

Sounds messy. Did anyone ask for it?

iceatcs6225d ago

just like you can use your gamertag on xbox.com
It is annoying to tell you are gold or not and high score or not, just like e-penis game.

Remember what the exec's said about the psn having a huge overhaul in April, and all we got was an upraded psn store. So much for this "huge overhaul". Just dont expect too much from them. Jack thompson said we will have better communications in game this june, so I'm assuming in game xmb. He didnt say anything about ingame voice chat, and from what I hear thats not even possible on the ps3, which sucks cause that is all I freakin want. So ya, just dont get too excited about what sony is saying, cause just like you , I dont wanna be dissapointed.

Drekken6225d ago

Jack Thompson? Dude seriously, back under the bridge.

Sony Cancels PSN's Qore

Today on the PlayStation Blog , it was revealed that April 2012's edition of Qore would be the last issue released.

Amazingmrbrock4818d ago

Good that whole thing was a waste in a poorly put together package.

They should just focus on putting out smaller individual videos rather than a big downloadable thing thats irritating to use. Making ofs, dev diaries, they could even look to some of the good gaming related series on the net for inspiration.

They could put out little featurettes, lets plays, maybe some reviews. As long as they let them go at it unbiased it would be pretty good. If there could be a show of the caliber of all your history or jon tron's shows.

It would be a relatively cheap way to get people looking at their games and content as easy passive and consumer friendly advertising. Though it would rely on quality content.

Xof4818d ago

It probably would have been more effective if they'd streamed it. A poorly-put together show is nothing. Look at the crap clogging the gaming media today. It's just that no one wants to wait an hour to DOWNLOAD a poor put-together gaming show.

Rupee4817d ago

Yep that's honestly why I never watched those. Never wanted to take the time to download.

LightofDarkness4818d ago

No way, the money should be spent on developing a sit-com. It stars a Sony Executive and a Microsoft Executive, who have to share an apartment in downtown New York for utterly arbitrary reasons. They are frequently visited by Fanboy, a fickle videogame fan who frequently switches sides completely from one exec to the other, depending on whatever wacky scenario is in play for that episode. Antics ensue.

Clearly, this is a gold-mine. Can I have my million dollars NOW, Sony?

come_at_me_bro4818d ago

Please tell me you have a future in television.

DragonKnight4818d ago

That idea is literally the best thing that could happen to tv today. I'm completely serious. Tv is crap these days and I feel like an old man when I saw I miss the 90's and "when I was younger we had better tv shows." It's just the truth though.

DrPepper4818d ago

ehhh never really cared for qore, i only watched like 13 mins of a episode. honestly i have n4g to get all my gaming news, trailers, etc from.
