This week on VGS radio...Find out why Sony started strong and ended alienating major sections of the fanbase!
Was a few key titles enough to redeem themselves in the eyes of gamers? The team discusses this and more...
Oh and MASS EFFECT 4, MASS EFFECT 4, MASS EFFECT 4.
Mass Effect 4 has the perfect chance to reintroduce dialogue skills, and Baldur's Gate 3 might be the blueprint BioWare needs.
After andromeda and veilguard i think it’s assured that the bioware we once knew has gone, I have little hope for me4. Hopefully i’m wrong.
Sony CEO Hiroki Totoki and CFO Lin Tao talked about the state of the PlayStation business and the strategy and targets going forward, including how they're responding to the tariffs.
Sony announced its financial results for the fiscal year 2024, and things are certainly looking up, despite a decline in PS5 sales.
If their profits fall next quarter, we'll probably see more price hikes. I can't imagine having to pay £20 a month for PlayStation Plus.
Decline in hardware sales.
Behind on lifetime sales and decline in first party sales.
Third party content and PSN came through to save the day.
Things will improve starting with the next Ghost game.
Hopefully a steady flow of first party content by end of '25
These guys are idiots...
He states that that they talked about "Powers" for 40 minutes... Now, he was most likely exaggerating, but it wasn't even that long.
I think that its just that last E3 was so amazing for SONY that i think this year was hard to live up to...
Also, he said that The Order was not that good... WTF? The gameplay was amazing!
And again.. the host of this show.. is a douche..
No one was defeated, imo all three had good showings, so many games I wanna play on all 3 platforms, good E3 for gamers so far :)
It wasn't 40 minutes but my god did it feel like it.
The Order looks amazing, but they chose a pretty poor section of the game to show off in their demo. Watching some of the devs play it now on IGN and what they are showing now is 100x better.
Sony and Microsoft had good shows, not great but good. Nintendo had a great show by their standards, but they are on a different level now due to their lack of third party.
Overall E3 was a bit of a letdown, but I agree it's only because last year everyone blew their loads.
Sony weren't defeated, they had far more surprises, way more announcements for exclusives, with actual real time footage of at least in-engine stuff.
IMO Sony's conference was definitely the best compared to Microsoft's even with the dull stuff from Shawn Layden's chat & the stuff about that TV show & the Ratchet & Clank movie, but R&C led into Andrew House announcing a remake of R&C 1.
TLOU looked like a PS4 game.
Also GTAV being announced at Sony's conference was a huge thing.
As far as seeing that next gen sparkle to games & actually seeing new games Sony's conference was the best one from the big 3.
You have to remove the 3rd party games from the MS presentation and give them all to Sony as DLC and first access (on either side) doesn't count as a selling point. DLC is crap full stop and having something a couple of weeks early doesn't detract from the opposition.
All 3rd party games will look best on PS4 as we have seen already so they win every single one of them.
