Microsoft’s Lamest, Coolest and Most Surprising E3 Moments

"The Microsoft’s E3 conference has just ended. Millions of fans and gamers watched it live, including myself, so I thought I should highlight some particular… moments. Moments that surprised and shocked, moments that seemed lame and moments that seemed cool. Just moments that affect both the gamers and the gaming world and set the mark for what’s to come in this next-gen future. Let’s get on with it, then!"

The story is too old to be commented.

I found that The Nurburgring DLC quite interesting, also they made it quick and then continued to games. I dont find it lame, sorry

GribbleGrunger2503d ago

I thought it was a damned good conference. I was very impressed with their unrelenting reveals of games. Very nice MS.

Naga2503d ago (Edited 2503d ago )

I thought it was a smart move to start referring to "the cloud" as simply "dedicated servers". Not sure if anyone else picked up on that.

GribbleGrunger2503d ago (Edited 2503d ago )

Yeah, I picked up on that but to be honest, when I watch a conference, I don't break it down into it's component parts, I embrace it as a whole, and in that respect it was frigin' GREAT. Over to you Sony!

Edit: And come on guys, don't disagree just because it's MS. You know me as a BIG Sony fan but it WAS a great show ... I still love Sony you know!

Automatic792503d ago

Excellent show definitely catered to the X1 crowd but also provides something new for new Xbox gamers.

tuglu_pati2503d ago (Edited 2503d ago )

Yeah i noticed too. Good that they are letting that go. The message that i got from their conference is that Its about games now not cloud or secret sauce anymore, which i think is a really smart move.

On topic,

I though it was a solid conference. Can't wait for Sony tonight.

ShinMaster2503d ago (Edited 2503d ago )

It was a good conference with many games shown, even if quite a few of them were multiplatform games and most trailers were CG and there weren't really any BIG surprises or MEGATONS either.

@ kopko

Not really that impressive when the Nurburgring has been available in racing games since the PS2.

ABizzel12503d ago (Edited 2503d ago )

I though it was a good conference too, it was just missing that massive bomb (Just a voiceover of Gears, then scrolling out to what Marcus looks like on XBO was enough). It was like going to a music concert, you know all the songs, and you know what to expect, but it can still be a great show.

I give them a B or B+, the pacing was perfect, they only focused on games, they were smart focusing on a 2014 segment and then a 2015 segment, the only problem is that their games seem to focus on their core fanbase which is nice, but it's not going to help them catch and surpass PS4 in sales.

But overall a very good show.

SilentNegotiator2503d ago (Edited 2503d ago )

It's easy to reveal a lot of games when you reach into late 2015/early 2016 for titles to beef up your conference.

Yeah i was so happy with that announcement, been waiting a while for it and started downloading it as soon as he said. Its only said to be lame by this guy as he doesn't play it, but for the millions that do its a big deal

Transporter472503d ago

DLC HERE FIRST is so stupid.... what is the point of that?? I never buy dlc when it comes out but its just dumb can't they use that money to fund a different game instead or do something more useful then just say here first...

NegativeCreep4272503d ago

Phil Spencer doesn't seem to be too opposed to that tradmark MS console war tactic either. So it seems Xbox will still basically continue to be the "Halo, Gears of War, COD DLC-First" console.

user14394142503d ago

The most surprising thing was that they didn't announce a new console. I was very upset. I wanted to see a hand held XBONE. XoXoXoXo

Yui_Suzumiya2503d ago

Would've leaked beforehand if it was gonna happen -_-

InTheLab2503d ago

The reason it is lame is because it should have launched in the game on day 1 and not 6 months later dlc. To use E3 to announce DLC is lame in general.

LAWSON722503d ago

16 disagrees!?!

Nurburgring is a fan favorite and has been demanded since everyone found out it was not in the game. MS has answered the calls and released it today and for free.

dale_denton2503d ago

lol nothing but CGI trailers and Timed DLC.. yeah good job M$. Sony will show ALL gameplay trailers.. mark my words.

3-4-52503d ago

Microsoft turned me off from wanting to get an XB1 at last years E3.

I kind of want one now. Good job Phil Spencer and the Xbox team for realizing your faults and at least making an honest effort to correct them.

Majin-vegeta2503d ago

I give them a 6/10.Too many Multiplats.

xHeavYx2503d ago

The biggest problem for me was the staged "live" demos. At the end they showed a wrap up video that included the same gameplay they showed

LOL_WUT2503d ago

If you really think about what other AAA multiplats are left for Sony to use? I just hope they show off Battlefront in their press conference because honestly Microsoft just set the bar.

I think that Dead Rising/Capcom anniversary DLC looked fun ;)

colonel1792503d ago (Edited 2503d ago )

Sony will most likely show Batman: Arkham Knight, definitely Destiny, they'll probably show Assassin's Creed: Unity again, and I know I am forgetting others. So Sony conference will have plenty of multiplats too (sadly).

Worst of all, since Sony's conference is last, they might even show more things for the second time. (like something EA and Ubi announces at their conferences)

iamnsuperman2503d ago

I am thinking the same thing. I feel Sony will go down the same route as Microsoft which isn't great news for anyone

ZodTheRipper2503d ago (Edited 2503d ago )

Sony has much more first party stuff as always... I would've given Microsoft a 6/10 as well and I'm expecting at least a 8/10 from Sony. After mediocre conferences from MS and EA we really need someone to save this years show.. very 'meh' so far.

Phene2503d ago

I think Sony is gonna focus heavily on first party. I expect to see the order maybe uncharted. We'll for sure see Destiny, andn probably some Indies. I thought Xbox was weak, but The Division was worth watching the whole show, best trailer I've seen so far.

Steven36572503d ago

There weren't many new things shown and most of the conference was made up of third party titles, although it was enjoyable to watch.

corvusmd2503d ago (Edited 2503d ago )

It was well done the whole way through. Period. Solid show. I'm gonna be so broke with all the games.

RiPPn2503d ago (Edited 2503d ago )

Underwhelming at best, should have saved the announcements they made in May for the show, would have made a much bigger impact. imo
