Troubleshooting The XBox 360

Okay, before sending your XBox 360 back to Microsoft for a warranty repair that might have you waiting 2-3 months before you get it back, here are a couple of things to check first before you give up the ghost. And if these don't work, you can repair the XBox 360 yourself. But try these first.

It only took like 3 weeks for my 360 to return to me, and that's mainly because it was delayed in Baltimore for a while. As soon as it got to Texas it was on its way back. No problems. I wouldn't risk trying to fix it myself if I can get it repaired for free.

I couldn't have said it any better.

When that 3 year warranty runs out, no more free repairs and then it's at least $100 bucks each time you send the 360 in... but we all know that when the 3 year warranty runs out people that have 360's will be buying yet ANOTHER 360.

Now now you calling me a troll hardly seems right given your track record. Besides which all i did was offer a solution to some of my fellow gamers. Common over to the dark side already. You'll like it here sure no ingame xmb yet but still lag free quality servers worldwide and it dont cost a thing.
If you need more incentive just look at the games were getting this year. :D and all the free stuff they keep adding to psn ingame xmb is right around the corner Home's not far behind...

I think you're mistaking me for POG. I own a 360, but I like the PS3 as well. I just hate it when fanboys go around bashing each others' system choice. Both systems have their ups and downs. The PS3 is not much better than the 360, but what's important is they are both amazing. Please don't mistake me for another MS fanboy. I just like to play games, and I hate it when people like you make a mockery of the industry.

Yeah I feel your saying but if they don't announce a new console this E3 then it's safe to say you can jump in and start enjoying now. Alone in the Dark is this month also so I would hate for you to miss out on it. I mean of course it's coming out later for PS3 but I like to get games this huge upon release.

Including the time it took to send the coffin it took about 10 days before it was back, they sent a refurbished one back both times totaly different from the ones sent in. 2 360's scratched discs before I got the one I have now that has had no problems.

So 1 out of 3, (33% failure rate just like they say) @ the time when I bought mine until the time when I got one that worked right. Now days im sure the failure rate is better.

Are the ones that are truly pathetic its like the answer for everything for them yeah I use to do that got Sega and Super Nintendo and a Dreamcast and Nintendo 64 but those were Japanese consoles that don't break I only buy things that actually work and for the people that keep shouting true gamers get a brain transplant true gamer my ass! just stop telling people to get both if they don't want to get both its none of your business you hippies.

having major problems with one of them, disc drive will not read games or movies anymore. I called xbox support but they said the warrenty for the disc drive was only for one year.

been trying to get RROD on purpose, but no luck.

M-soft has Xbox repair down to a science now. No way they have 2-3 month long shipping/repairs today.
