Welcome to the latest edition of Nintendo Enthusiast - Week in Review. The lovely Janey joins Shawn Long as a special cohost as they break down last weeks big Nintendo news such as Mario Kart 8's initial weekend sales, Wii U consoles flying off the shelf, Tomodachi Life Review, and much more. Be sure to check out the special Retro Game of the Week, and stick around till the end to see Janey do a Super Mario Bros. Super Show Rap Dance while a certain plumber stares on!
Tomodachi Life is finally returning on the Switch, which bodes well for the roster of Nintendo's next Super Smash Bros. entry.
The recent March 2025 Nintendo Direct revealed exciting news, including a Tomodachi Life sequel, which may be significant for Animal Crossing fans.
In a simple and concise post on Twitter, head of Respawn Entertainment Vince Zampella responded to fan requests for a Titanfall x Helldivers 2 crossover two love heart emojis, praising the idea.
Mario Kart actually did better than I expected. I expected about half a million in the first week.
It's Mario...The last Wii version sold about 33 million so it is no surprise it is selling like hot cakes. The Mario Kart 8 deluxe bundle is sold out everywhere in my area and even Gamestop.com is sold out of it. And to think Nintendo games, especially Mario Kart, traditionally have long legs and will sell throughout the entire life cycle of a console, it is only the beginning, folks. Greatly deserved too!
Mario Kart 8 outsells Infamous/Titanfall.
Nice. LoL.
I knew this would happen, i love all the platforms and have all 3, but its a shame a lot of retailers lost hope in Wii U, Mario Kart 8 will be the catalyst to a better future hopefully
That's awesome! hope Nintendo keeps the ball rolling.
