Carl Williams writes, "Demakes are a popular sub-genre of gaming and only growing as more and more people get into them. For the most part, many demakes which take a new game and fit onto a retro platform, are simply “proof of concept” releases- most are not actually games. Though there have been a few notable demakes that were actually games, such as Halo for the Atari 2600. The other side of demakes is that many are not licensed from, or endorsed by, the original copyright/trademark holders. One such current game that is getting a demake onto the Commodore 64 is Faster Than Light."
