Don't Tell Me How to Game (Gaming with Conviction)

Drew Koehler of Cross Console Gamers writes:
In this day and age, there should be no doubt that gaming is typically demonized in our culture. Any time that something violent and tragic happens, the media tries to blame video games. Though no study has conclusively linked violent behavior to violent video games, for most people there is the appearance of a link, whether factual or not.

To add insult to injury, as a whole, Christian culture does not approve of video games as an acceptable medium of entertainment. Even if your church accepts gaming in general, it is usually seen or considered a childish means of entertainment (aside from the youth pastor of course). This results in Christians who do game, or participate in facets of geek culture, to be more prone to have to defend their choice of geek-dom or gamer-dom.

Even if they do crack down all a person needs is an Everdrive and a regular old school machine. Or modify a disc based console that has a dead laser to boot off an SD card. Some of those illegal devices look neat and some of them are just plain crap.

This won't stop it unless you have a great service.

What a stupid thing to be wasting time, money and effort. Aren't these guys literally drowning right now? Maybe y'all should focus more on that instead trying to stop people from playing old games no longer being sold.

Pretty sure I've read and seen parts of Italy experiences/ing pretty bad floodings. Id argue that's more important than trying to prevent the sale of emulation devices.
