GameZone: "Yesterday, at 12:01am Pacific, Carbine Studios opened the servers for their new MMORPG, WildStar. Though the official launch isn't technically until June 3, yesterday marked the beginning of the three-day head start. If you pre-ordered the game, then this means you are now able to login and start playing.
That is, if you are able to login."
Justin van Huyssteen from NoobFeed writes - The Metaverse is a nebulous concept that has been floated about, by some, as the next big thing, and people often want to jump on board these kinds of things. Metaverse has been in the news a lot, but should it be in the news as often as it is? Or is it just another gimmick?
I have no interest in a metaverse, just give me a good single player game. And to answer your question: no, it isn't.
Carbine Studios announced in September that the game would be shut down and that the studio would be closing. Since the announcement, players have been able to enjoy the full game without restriction and with a number of in-game events firing off for the last time.
WildStar offers epic high adventure, where players make their mark as Explorers, Soldiers, Scientists or Settlers and lay claim to a mysterious planet on the edge of known space.
I honestly can't see the appeal of this one.
I love Sci-Fi, I love Ratchet and Clank style graphics, I love MMORPG's... but after trying the beta, this is a dud. Sooo boring and generic. and I really wanted to love this game.
Even if the end game content is the most amazing thing ever created - there's no way I was going to wade through the early game to get there.
If this goes F2P I'll give it another shot, especially with a bit more development and expansion - but as it stands now... Pass!
