Homefront 2 Won’t Be Xbox One Exclusive, Good Things Coming for Dead Rising 3 Fans – Rumor

With the widespread rumor that Microsoft is going to announce a major third party exclusive at E3, theories are raining like men for the Weather Girls, and one of said theories indicates Homefront 2.

According to insider Shinobi602 that's not the case, and in addition to that, good things are coming for Dead Rising 3 fans.

Dual shockers is out for ad revenue, plain and simple. They post ANYTHING on neogaf and from insiders even when they are garbage like "uncharted 4 looks amazing! Says insider"

He did not submit this as news, and did not try to add his personal touch to make it seem like less of a rumor. Speaking sales wise home front outsold shenmue at least the dream cast version of it. Shenmue is only big to the hardcore. Plus shenmue 2 performed poorly as well look it up on Wikipedia home front would be a much bigger exclusive in terms of actual sales.

Although Microsoft did publish the second game so I think it is more likely to see another on the Xbox one

I wouldn't consider Shenmue 3 to be a "Major Exclusive". I think Project Grave is going to be the "Major Exclusive" builds on top of the Crytek relationship and it is "Unexpected" like they said.

And Shenmue never sold well.

It was the most requested game by x box fans in a recent online survey done this year or last year.

I believe Shenmue was recently trademarked again last couple of months, suggesting a new game may be coming.

Phil Spencer is now the new head of x box. The reason he bought Gears was solely down to the demand of fans who wanted another game.

Shenmue may be the game they went after, if x box fans want it that much?

Home front 2 makes sense cause crytek bought the ip off of THQ when they went bankrupt. Combine that with microsofts super close working relationship with crytek I could easily see that happening

You do realize games like Ryse/DR3/Forza 5 all sold extremely well on X1. DR3 official numbers stated it sold 1.4 Million units in the first 5 months.

And last official numbers we got from Microsoft put Ryse/Forza 5/DR3 all in the same boat with numbers.

Are you basing this on the metascore it got, because KZ:SF flopped in reviews but still sold remarkably well.

You do realize that Crytek and Microsoft have been building a strong relationship. Between games like SoD using Cryengine and Warframe coming to 360. Also since Microsoft almost bought out Crytek like 10 years ago.

I think Microsofts way is pretty good, you fund games and then either choose to buy the IP or the studio.

Helps when you have a big warchest :)... I am hoping they let a japanese dev like capcom or the blazblue devs loose on the next KI game. And there is nothing stopping them from approaching people like DICE, bioware, gearbox, epic, to develop Ips they already own. Add this to the fact that they are actively opening up new studios and its actually quite a good strategy for pumping a steady stream of AAA exclusives.
