X-Men: Days of Future Past hit cinemas in the last week, raking in the money and garnering great reviews. Surprisingly, for a film this big with a massive hype machine behind it, there was no official videogame to try and part us from our hard-earned cash. So, if you’re in the need for a game to give you your mutant fix, we’ve got a top 5 to sort you out. The only rule is the game needs to have X-Men in the title, so Marvel Vs Capcom 2 is out, but our number five should make up for that…
The project codenamed HLX, which is thought to be Half-Life 3, is reportedly being widely playtested ahead of a Summer reveal and Winter release.
I wonder if the rumours are true - that it has a highly destructible environment and very reactive with hot/cold with realism placed on wind and other physics, I guess it makes sense, HL2 was very impressive at the time and it carried over into GMOD. That's what I really liked about it, everything built into the engine.
The only thing that might slightly disappoint me is if they don't upgrade the graphics more. I like that Source and Source 2 has such a clean look, I just hope they push it so it's more like Source 2.5 if they haven't budged it up to Source 3. Being (supposedly) the game to finish the original story I hope they go all out if they can while maintaining high frame rates with modern hardware.
Windows Central: “Embark Studios' ARC Raiders is the extraction shooter I've been waiting for. Here's why it's better than Bungie's upcoming Marathon.”
This is silly. I think both games are amazing. Both games can be very successful at the same time and I hope they are.
So we can we can see into the future now? I’m sure ARC is fine, me personally? Far more interested in Marathon. Between known Bungie’s solid gameplay and world building to the aesthetics and concept, I’m all in on Marathon.
I played the Technical Test 2 earlier today and had a blast. I got thrown in an instance, saw a guy walking up some stairs, started shooting at him and watched him run for his life. It was funny until I got killed by some random drones. They're both different games and will have their space. Only the gameplay loop will tell.
Why do gamers/gamejournalist do this? We need to stop with all this doom article game shit.
The Illuminate made quite a mess in the previous Major Order and it's up to Helldivers 2 players to clean it and reclaim important sites.
X-Men Origins killed it, figuratively and literally. Awesome game. Would love to see Marvel self-publish someday and churn out gold like that on a yearly basis.
