Possible Release date for FW: 2.40

After browsing around youtube I managed to discover a possible release date for Firmware 2.40 and that day is June 10th. Hit the Jump for more

quite excellent news. i had been concerned they might wait until the 12th which would not have been wise with the launch occurring.

the last shrouds of live advantage have now been cut away. there is one curiosity. the ea dev posting at neogaf said there was quite a bit more than just trophies, music support, and messaging in this update. he stated it would keep pas3 owners happy for quite some time.

thanks for all the news update Sev, keep em coming. i cant wait for ingame xmb access but, all this hype surrounding it has to cut out. people are gonna be mad if the date doesn't come about remember, platform holders change and delay things all the time. we should just be happy it's coming. when Sony puts it up on the PS blog then we'll have our official confirmation.

I simply cant wait. but i'm taking that date as a grain of salt until i turn on my PS3 and see the update requirement

A few hours, a day ago to be exactly a Insider just reveal taht the firmware 2.40 may include multiples things like:
1- An fully XMB
2- CustomSoundtracks
3- 2D version of the trophies available on the XMB
4- The date and the clock will show on the right upper corner of the PS3 screen.
5- And others things that I don't remember now.
Speculations from a actually cellphone cam recording show the XMB fully functional running along with the PS3 version of Bioshock game on an dev PS3 that's burning many site on Internet and also making Sony to remove such content from Internet ASAP. Otherwise others source confirm that the next PS3 update will be on Tuesday 10 of June 2 days before the launch of MGS4.

That's quite a resume of everything that's going in on the Internet referred with the PS3 lately.

That's just too good to be true. Within that week there is already MGS4, the new N.E.R.D. album, The Boondocks Season 2 DVD set, and the new Hulk movie. If you tell me I'm getting the most anticipated firmware update yet (since we learned 2.0 was a hoax and if this stuff IS true anyway) then I will probably go into a happiness coma for 3 days.

Actually I got the flv files from youtube bwahahahaha. Just in case of such thing happen as always. but it is true the videos are remover from multiples site on the Internet. Maybe is totally true about the XMB and the content of the firmware 2.40 after all right ^__^
