Avoiderdragon: One of the sub-genres that may or may not need more games in it is noir, which is all about stuff like smooth-talking detectives, damsels in distress, shifty bad guys, and MacGuffin devices. The most notable video game with such a theme is Max Payne, and it had its lead designer playing the protagonist in the first game. What most people don’t know is that there’s another game franchise with its designer playing the lead, and it just got a new release after 16 years of dormancy.

I'm so happy this genre is seeing resurgence, my best gaming experiences have come from point click adventures, Monkey Islands, Goblins, Beneath a Steel Sky, Flight of the Amazon Queen, Fate of Atlantis, etc….. I loved playing through Grim Fandango again and we also have the remaster of Day of the Tentacle to look forward to.
Judging from the titles this article lists it seems I have some catching up to do as I've only played Broken Sword 5 and Broken Age.
