Next-Gen Indie Game, The Manifeste, To Use Kinect 2, Will Be "Perfect for Hardcore Gamers"

Beavers.it have conducted an interview with Brett Gale, the founder and CEO of Playhouse Entertainment, about the upcoming ID@Xbox hybrid Kinect 2 game The Manifeste, which he thinks will be “perfect for hardcore gamers”. Here are some excerpts from the interview related to the Xbox One version including how Microsoft’s short-sighted decision to release a Kinect-less Xbox One SKU has led to including a joypad-only option and explaining some of the game’s motion-controlled gameplay:

Sounds like Mogwai...

I feel MS screwed a lot of devs over by taking Kinect out of the box.

pdavid4053d ago

The guy in the interview didn't seem too upset though. He said it was a logical move made by MS

KwietStorm_BLM4053d ago

Exactly. Logical move..for Microsoft.

This video started out and had me intrigued, but by the time it ended and I realized I just looked at a bunch of photographs, I had lost all interest.

Back to trailer school 101 Playhouse Entertainment, this one is a FAIL!

kanyewesting4052d ago

Not to mention there's still a pretty great amount of people with the Kinect as it stands.

ThichQuangDuck4053d ago

There are some people getting the Xbox One that otherwise wouldn't have. Microsoft didn't screw over devs, but rather challenged them to make the kinect worth it

This game is high up on my most anticipated. The dev hasn't shown much of it yet but it sounds like it's going to be pretty damn awesome after seeing their tech demos on youtube and what they've revealed about it so far.

Looks like first and third person gameplay, which I'm always a huge fan of. And I love how I'm not forced to always use motion controls, even though I probably will use them most of the time because they look like they'll be a lot of fun in this game.

Can't wait to see more!

AceBlazer134052d ago

Out of curiosity what are the other games on that anticipated list of yours.

pdavid4052d ago

Watch Dogs, The Order:1886, Alien: Isolation, to name a few, and ya I think The Manifeste looks pretty cool.

Sounds like an interesting story and will have lots of exploration and puzzle solving. The motion control and VR stuff sounds really awesome too.

What makes you not look forward to it?

"Perfect for Hardcore Gamers"

Yeah... I'm not falling for that again

In this interview, Brett Gale (CEO and Founder of PlayHouse Entertainment inc.) talks about The Manifeste, sharing new info and details on gameplay, motion controls and VR. Enjoy!

pdavid4051d ago

Great interview! Can't wait for this game to come out, or at least to see more of it!

Any idea if this will be at E3?

Beavers4049d ago

I'don't think so. Maybe at Gamescom, but i'm not sure even about that.

Jzot114051d ago

I hope so. It would be great for a small studio like Playhouse to have the kind of publicity that comes from an important event like E3.

Interesting. Waiting to hear more details on this.

Same here. Very cool backstory. Gameplay sounds right up my ally too.

pdavid4125d ago

This game sounds really awesome. Can't wait to see more about it. Wonder if the developer's motion controller peripheral will be used with it?

Enhancing PlayStation Move: Motion Control, Crowd Funding and Being Truly 1:1

The PlayStation Move’s motion tracking may be accurate, but it clearly has problems that have stifled its success. In our previous article on Playhouse Entertainment’s promising (if not wishful) DualPLAY peripheral, many of our readers expressed a specific interest in the accessory – in contrast to existing motion controlled offerings.

So, we spoke with Playhouse Entertainment’s CEO, Brett Gale, and scrutinized him on all things motion, and why you should pay attention to Playhouse’s promising potential product.

Great stuff for fps, dual analogs + free aim movement on screen! But being that bulky, would only be more tiresome to play more than 1h straight. If it´s going to be that way, better wait for Sony do something slimmer, lighter and less "lollypoppy".

playhouseent4488d ago

Hate to break it to all of you that think it's "better [to] wait for Sony to do something slimmer", but it's not coming. Coming from a licensed PS3 and now PS4 developer, this is the best it is going to get. Might as well enjoy something that exists now and is fun to use, rather than talk about waiting for something that doesn't exist and isn't going to.

There is some new licensed patents of a sexier PSMOVE controller design registered this year... not that means something, but it kept my spirit high. Licensed or not, this doesn´t kept SONY away from making new designs of their products or peripherals.

kingkobra2xxx4488d ago

This looks frickin awesome!!! Exactly what i hoped move to be. They should work with Sony to make a dual play package.
Seems really immersive.
