ARGH! He's in trouble now. The damn fool said "100% compatible".

Fanboys are going to have a field day with this one...

EDIT: Ah-ha. Wrong. Inaccurate reporting rears its ugly head again with more misquoting.

He didn't say it; he stuck to his guns and said "our *goal* is 100% compatibility." Same as always.

I think this is being blown out of proportion. Out of the 8000+ titles available ~200 aren't working exactly right. That's pretty good considering the bar set in next-gen already. Next summer this will likely be a non-issue.

Sony goes into specifics.. they originally claimed 100%.

i never wanted to play ps1 games on my ps2 because they were sooo ugly and pixelated, but i find imstill playing xbox1 games on my 36o because some of last gens games still dont look too bad, i bought 7 xbox1 games last week for the price of one 360 game! so backward compat is a big thing to most gamers, but at the end of the day 360 isnt fully compatibil with all old games, sony should have never opened their mouth about that situation because now they are having problems

so if i got it correct, out of 40 games, the rough probability would be that 1 wouldn't work, depending on factors like the amount of games you have and the randomness of the sampling. Plus i read that in some cases it's not that they flat out don't work, but there might be some glitches or some lighting problems or a level that doesn't work.

Not good news, but not necessarily bad news. I'm pretty much used to bad news from sony anyways, starting with that high price point. Might or might not get a PS3, still considering.
