Wolfenstein: The New Order Review - SpawnFirst

Karl Dodd writes: "Wolfenstein: The New Order begins in an alternate history version of the year 1946. World War II is still ongoing and the Nazis have managed to develop advanced technologies, which give them a huge advantage over the Allied forces. William ‘B.J.’ Blazkowicz and a team of Allies undergo a raid on an enemy fortress that is being run by B.J.’s old nemesis Deathshead. From there things go badly and the player is forced to make a moral choice which will alter the timeline you experience."

This game was purchased legally and therefore is not under NDA/review embargo restrictions by Bethesda Softworks.

As I predicted it should get low 8s while Watchdogs gets mid 8s.

hellzsupernova1612d ago

I. Very skeptical about watch dogs doing well. This game 8 is what I expect it is a fps based on nazis which is kind of silly but I cannot wait

Flutterby1612d ago

Well I gave it a 7 so only 1 point off , yet people where convinced I didn't play it because I didn't say it was the best game ever.

Webbyy1612d ago

Yea 8s not bad at all.. Still debating whether to buy it or not..

My mind is telling me NO! but the gamer in me is saying go for it :-/

What the heck is low 8s and mid 8s??? An 8 is an 8 on this planet.

showtimefolks1612d ago

i think watch dogs will be mostly mid 7's and some mid 8's. UBI are shooting for the moon and its a new IP so expect some rough bumps along the way

but i am buying both(mainly because need something to play)

UltraNova1612d ago (Edited 1612d ago )

It gets solid 8s so far and its a Nazi killing Single player fps, what more could anyone want!???

Emphasis on SINGLE PLAYER playem while you can guys!

Day one, multiple play-throughs.

I'm still not convinced at all with Wolfenstein. I've been watching alot of people streaming it on PS4 and it looks very sub-par at best to me.

ThatEnglishDude1612d ago (Edited 1612d ago )

... and to think, killing Nazi's seems somewhat fresh by todays standards. I do want to get round to playing this at some point.

diesoft1612d ago

The bandwagon was jumped when modern warfare came out. Then it was all about brown graphics and military lingo, set in a desert.

Who would've thought 10 years ago that we wouldn't mind killing some nazis again?

LordMaim1611d ago

I thought it 5 years ago when I was playing the last Wolfenstein game. :)

diesoft1611d ago

Nah, there have been trickles but gaming as a whole had way too many games set in WWII.

BattleReach1612d ago (Edited 1612d ago )

Yes! Really hoping this game gets good reviews! The game looks very promising and most important: it looks fun.

It doesn't takes itself very serious unlike most shooters, altough the setting is very interesting and scary.

We need more games to be like this! Can't wait for tomorrow!

incendy351612d ago

Good score, but the review itself wasn't very informative. Wonder when the embargo breaks for more professional reviews.

PockyKing1612d ago

Its SpawnFirst, I wouldn't read too much into them.

fluffydelusions1612d ago

Embargo is tomorrow morning

joydestroy1612d ago (Edited 1612d ago )
