16BitKings review of the Running with Rifles late beta: "I snipe the last soldier and reload the rifle as half a dozen comrades take the Ruins for the fourth time. For the past half hour, three armies with hundreds of men have fought over the same piece of land; some ruins in the middle of the map."
This week on the Endless Backlog Podcast the fellas talk about recent PC games they have been playing such as Cities Skylines, Killing Floor 2, and Running With Rifles
Chris from Denkiphile: "Running With Rifles is a fun isometric shooter developed and produced by Modulaatio Games. Basically, its Battlefield with an aerial view, shooting enemies and capturing outposts on massive maps. The game has a nice charm and humor to it as fellow soldier yell random things and the environments are phenomenal in looks and large to run around."
Conner writes:
"Too often, these days, the war game has become bland. Game after game comes out each year, focusing on providing triple A spectacle, with little to no character, or, indeed, fun. Such is the fate of the war-game that they’ve even begun to be parodied and subverted, with games such as This War of Mine and Valiant Hearts focusing on the emotional, character driven side of war, whilst Call of Duty outdoes itself every year with a bigger budget, explosions, and graphical fidelity."
