Titanfall PC losing CTF and Pilot Hunter modes

Revealed via Twitter (in the middle of the night), the PC version of Titanfall will no longer have access to Capture the Flag and Pilot Hunter game modes. Presumably due to a lack of player activity - that is to say these two aren't the most popular - they have decided to remove these two game modes from the PC version of the game.

XiSasukeUchiha4048d ago

WTH now Titanfall PC is losing gamemodes !?

Wow what's up with that?

Abash4048d ago

Removing game modes after two months? Now I have seen everything

Eonjay4048d ago

I thought they were adding modes with DLC...

OC_MurphysLaw4048d ago

they didnt remove them...they still exist.

crxss4048d ago

No one plays those modes. It's sad. Variety mode is the only way to actually play those game types but are they removing CTF and PH in variety too?

AlexFili4048d ago

Sure the graphics may be nice but the huge install and lower number of modes? Shame, I would have thought they would treat PC gamers with more respect... after all the PC might be the only gaming platform in 10 years time.

TomShoe4048d ago

Lame. This game has the potential to be great, but it gets bogged down with the lack of content and shoddy matchmaking, which gives it poor replay value.

darren_poolies4048d ago

I don't understand why they would do this. Even if no one was playing them, why even go to the effort to remove them?

memots4047d ago (Edited 4047d ago )

Theyll add it back as DLC. Capcom method lol

Talk about a BS headline. From their twitter:

"PC: we're removing CTF & Pilot Hunter but they'll be playable in Private Matches and Variety. We'll tweak lists as we add maps & modes."

So the modes are still around (as in not removed) just not on the primary play list most likely due to low play edit: or who knows maybe someone found a way to glitch / hack the game modes when its on its own as a set play mode?

Godmars2904048d ago

That's a bit drastic. Removing game modes under an excuse of lack of popularity when the game is still selling.

Something else has to be up. Some hack they don't want to report.

iamnsuperman4048d ago

Or possible loop hole/back door. Removing game modeas is very strange and not really heard of.

GarrusVakarian4048d ago

Agreed, there's no way it's due to player count of those games modes, the game has been selling well on PC.

I'm glad i don't play it on PC, Pilot Hunter is the only mode i play! I like it because only human vs human fights can win the game. Bot kills and Titan kill don't count towards the overall score.

But yeah...wtf is up with removing game modes 2 months after release?

jayswolo4048d ago

they aren't removing it, it's called rotation. The Halo games had tons of modes and playlists, and only a few would be at the forefront. Some would even disappear completely but would still be playable. Like Big Team Battle.

DC7774048d ago

Better be something. I like ctf on there. Origin better get my refund ready.

Rimgal4048d ago (Edited 4048d ago )

It's a joke, right?

truefan14048d ago (Edited 4048d ago )

I guess all that I'll just get it on PC was just talk. I said from the very beginning pc gaming died in the early-mid 2000's now all the pc gamers play is games like league of legends. I used to be a PC gamer, had a top of the line PC that I called the Beast, but stopped updating it as the games that I linked went away or became more popular on consoles, CS, TFC, Age of Empires, Wolfenstein, Day of Defeat, Battlefield, Medal of Honor...

MysticStrummer4048d ago

"I said from the very beginning pc gaming dies in the early-mid 2000's"

…and PC gaming has only gotten more popular. I'm a confirmed consoler but even I can admit that.

Dafuq did I just read?!?

Dude if you know how to read please read this.

only if you know....

jazmac4048d ago

You gave your PC a name? Oh dear...

sourav934048d ago (Edited 4048d ago )

I gave my PC a name too. It sounds oriental:

Gae Ming Pee Si

;)

Kivespussi4048d ago (Edited 4048d ago )

To be honest both consoles and PC are doing better than ever. PC will actually be the dominant platform this gen. I guarantee it.

LightDiego4048d ago

The dominant platform without Destiny, Final Fantasy XV, Kingdom Hearts 3, Metal Gear Solid V and the best exclusives?
But you are right, you guarantee it.

Somebody4047d ago

@ LightDiego
Since everyone has a PC of some type, be it laptops or desktops, and they play all sorts of games on them then yes, the PC is arguably the dominant platform.

That's why console fans derided all those MMOs, flash/web games and Facebook games on the PC trying desperate to classify them as non-games because the amount of people playing them effectively outnumbered both console gamers and regular PC gamers. Console fans always wanted to compare their exclusives titles against the PCs while deliberately avoid mentioning the little ones that will make their argument meaningless.

Not only that the PC is where supposedly dead genres get to be reborn. Survival horror was a big thing on the PS2 and yet find itself dying on the PS3. PC has Amnesia and Outlast while survival horror on consoles became third person cover based shooters. Point and click adventures had a resurgent on the PC several years back and found a new home on mobiles. Even FMV games, a relic from the PC's heydays, have a glimmer of hope of a come back!

Console gamers get to re-buy the very games they bought from the previous gen the year before.

Prime1574048d ago (Edited 4048d ago )

http://gearnuke.com/pc-domi... This link shows that pc gaming never had to worry. Yes, in 2008 console gaming BARELY had lead market share, but 2008 was the start of 360 and ps3.

Just because YOU, truefan1, don't engage in certain activities doesn't mean YOU are the majority. Get out off your house once in awhile; there's a larger world than you. I wish I lived in an ignorance ridden, ego centric world like you sometimes.

this is truefan1, so I should have expected the inevitable nonsense.

GarrusVakarian4048d ago

Oh dear, Truefan, oh dear....Another case of you arrogantly believing your opinion is fact. I'm no PC gamer, but even I know it's need been stronger than it is today. Many people got the game on PC, so there's no reason for these game modes to be taken out, especially not TWO MONTHS after launching.

sourav934048d ago

Don't feed him Lukas...just don't.

EA Cuts Around 300 Roles, Including Roughly 100 at Respawn

In addition to the roughly 100 job cuts IGN reported earlier today at Respawn Entertainment, EA has made wider cuts across its organization today, impacting around 300 individuals total including those already reported at Respawn.

Lightning7745d ago

Absolutely insane. Man I'm hope they land on their feet EA needs to get the shit together badly....

This is why this industry has slow releases and none compelling games.

127maXimus45d ago

Why would anyone willingly work in the VG industry or specifically for one of these globocorp organizations that put you in constant fear of losing your livelihood based on terrible choices made by idiotic management, not the people with talent making the actual games?
