Wolfenstein: The New Order - Already Leaked One Week Before Release

There is no doubt that the new Wolfenstein title is one of the most anticipated games of 2014. Unfortunately, though, the game has already been leaked on torrent sites a week prior to its official release.

"There is no doubt that the new Wolfenstein title is one of the most anticipated games of 2014. "

It's not even the most anticipated title of May.

joydestroy4047d ago

i just pre-ordered it after watching the hour long gameplay vid. i thought it looked very entertaining.

generic-user-name4047d ago

Oh please, we all know Watch Dogs is the game that everyone is anticipating for May.

Watch Dogs, TLOU remastered, Sunset Overdrive, The Order, The Division, Destiny etc, these are the most anticipated games of 2014 so far, Wolfenstein doesn't match that, even if it turns out to be a better game than any of them.

I'm not speaking for myself, I'm speaking for the vast majority. Even here on n4g I'm sure you'll find more articles relating to those games I've mentioned compared to this.

M-M4047d ago (Edited 4047d ago )

Generic-user-name is 100% right. Wolfenstein: The New Order may be great or even beyond that, but that doesn't mean it's the most anticipated game of the year. I wish some of you guys would take the fanboy glasses off sometimes because even if you love the series, that doesn't make it automatically the most anticipated game of the year.

hellzsupernova4047d ago

THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am more excited for Wolf then anything coming out anytime soon.
The dismemberment of the bodies looks insane

Utalkin2me4047d ago

Just this month alone, MarioKart 8 and Watchdogs is by far more anticipated titles than this dreadful looking game.

mikeslemonade4047d ago (Edited 4047d ago )

lol at the fan fare of this game. This game only warrants slightly more attention than the game Theif.

It's Watch Dogs and Mario Kart 8 that's it in May.

I'm not a fan of racing or MK8 but I ain't blind to see what game is worth the hype and what is not.

Sunset Overdrive isn't a hotly anticipated game for anyone other than some people in the gaming media that are talking about it a little bit. Honestly I think the game looks terrible.

There hasn't been a good story driven FPS since Bioshock: Infinite and Metro: Last Light, and The New Order looks like it's going to be great. I really didn't like Wolfenstein(2009) because I found it to be boring and repetitive, but The New Order looks to be a completely different caliber of game.

MonstaTruk4047d ago

@porkChop

I think he's speaking for alot of gamers. It looks very similar to the Wolfenstein that came out on Xbox 360/PS3, a few years ago. Nothing really new or impressive. I'm not saying I'm not going to get it for PS4, just...not full price.

BadlyPackedKeebab4046d ago

Maybe its not all that anticipated but I figure I can polish it off before WD is out...

MYDEATH214046d ago

I'm really excited. The gameplay reminds me of bioshock and dishonored, 2 pretty dam epic games. I have high hopes for this one

I wouldn't worry about the game I have played it thru and it's not very good imo, some people may like it because of nostalgia but it's bland and Un fun, also after playing it on pc I can see how it managed to get 1080p and 60 frames on console.

joydestroy4047d ago

how'd you manage to play it on PC but it hasn't leaked yet?

Flutterby4047d ago

Yeh it has its just not on torrent sites at mo.

SPAM-FRITTER-1234047d ago

Bollocks.

Name your source if true.

KillerPwned4047d ago (Edited 4047d ago )

Yeah I don't believe you. You can check any torrent site and its only up for PS3 right now. Unless somehow someway you got a PC copy and were able to bypass the DRM.

Flutterby4047d ago

A source for a copy of the game I received lol ? Why would I need a source ? Believe what you want but the game is as big a disappointment as Duke nukem.

MRMagoo1234047d ago

From what i have played of the ps3 version it seems really generic, pretty glad i didnt pay for it the only thing i can say was good was that the fights gets hectic sometimes but other than that , the original is better.

Ha, I chuckled while reading it too.

stavrami-mk24047d ago

Lol Yea I know what u mean my radar don't even register this gane

Magicite4047d ago

this game will be forgotten maximum 1 week after release.

The_KELRaTH4047d ago

I've never looked at single player games as must haves on release. If it's fun now it will be fun in a years time while multiplayer might be fun on release but could have dead servers in a years time.

mafiahajeri4047d ago

Don't know why your getting so many disagrees everything you said is right. This game looks mediocre and a FPS with no MP this day and age is lazy.

Most anticipated games are Batman, destiny, lotr som, the order, watchdogs etc. wolfenstein isn't even close

Haki11124046d ago

Not every FPS need online multi to be good..

CrowbaitBob4046d ago

"FPS with no MP this day and age is lazy."

Ugh, you and your ilk are what is wrong with gaming these days.

SoulMikeY4047d ago

There's a HUGE chance watch dogs will suck, and I agree with Mario kart. Obviously you are too young if Wolfenstein doesn't look awesome to you.

I'm not a hater though, I'll give GTA: Watch Dogs a shot.

Another "Generic" Internet thug... Smh, you're probably that type of dude that has no aspirations in life. The farthest your dreams fly is out of your mouth. Lol

generic-user-name4047d ago

Look at your life.

Look at your bubbles.

Look at your choices.

At no point did I say Wolfenstein doesn't look good, I only stated that people are more excited about other games. The only 'thug' here is you, and you've embarrassed yourself.

stellarpanda4046d ago

I hate it when another gamer thinks he speaks for all gamers.

generic-user-name4046d ago

I'm only going by what I see. Go ahead and fool yourself into thinking that Wolfenstein is more anticipated than Watch Dogs by the masses.

You people need to stop fooling yourselves.

josephayal4046d ago

I completely and absolutely agree with you, The game looks pretty generic to me

Copy paste from another article? This happens with almost every title.

As for the consoles x PC piracy comparison, it is a joke, right? Is there someone dumb enough to think that some console has more pirates than PC?

"In a blog post, Patrick Klug of Greenheart Games said that the cracked version made up over 93 percent of all Game Dev Tycoon downloads (...)".

john24047d ago

Usually console games get leaked 1-2 days before release, not an entire week.

SaturdayNightBeaver4047d ago (Edited 4047d ago )

"They are leaked weeks before release , but what does it matter when PC fagz are obvious bigger pirates." - Console peasant

Vegamyster4047d ago (Edited 4047d ago )

The article didn't say more people pirate on consoles, he said its a big issues on consoles just like PC as the game hasn't been leaked on the PC yet but has on the PS3 and soon the 360 apparently.

What does this have to do with Greenheart Games?

SPAM-FRITTER-1234047d ago

So far only the PS3 version is showing so yeh.

MRMagoo1234047d ago

hmmm i know 3 ppl with the PC version already and i have seen one of them playing it, it looks a lot better than the PS3 version i have but its still not a very good game , i would give it a 7/10 at most but i will play some more later when i am home and see how it goes later on , im only 1 hour in.

DoctorJones4047d ago

I think you're talking BS MRMagoo123.

The_KELRaTH4046d ago (Edited 4046d ago )

The biggest joke is they go on about piracy but how did it get onto Pirate Bay and the likes in the 1st place.
Most devs work on closed networks which means the code has to be taken physically from the premises then passed onto the pirates - that's criminal theft yet do we hear about any police activity? NO!
So maybe this Patrick Klug could tell us how the cracked version got to Pirate Bay rather than going on about how gamers are always at fault.

Palitera4046d ago

For start: it was news on every major website that they released a cracked version with some tweaks that screwed the pirated game. They had a point to prove and they did prove it. Generated some interesting reads, actually.

Also, "do we hear about any police activity? NO!". Once again, you don't have much info on the subject. I, for instance, can tell some interesting stories (nothing new, though) about MK leaking on Brazil and the problems had with the police, about how the house of the MW2 leaker was raided by the police etc... Police is definitely involved.

Finally, the games usually are leaked in two ways: leaked by a retailer/customer who got the game early (most common) or stolen from a factory. But is this reason to blame devs and publishers by piracy? o.O

MidnytRain4047d ago

Maybe 'a friend of mine' will try it out.

kevinsheeks4047d ago

Could that "friend" tell me if it's worth buying I've been hearing people talk about this game but have been on the fence >.<

MRMagoo1234047d ago

imo if you like all shooters average or not its worth picking up but if you are kinda bored of fps and need something new and fun then its not the game to get. im only an hour in so far tho so who knows.

SteamPowered4047d ago

Doesnt matter if its on The Pirate Bay this very minute. I will add it to my Steam account and support the developers I trust. For me, Steam made pirating obsolete.

nucky644047d ago

doing the right thing should make pirating obsolete.....problem is there are too many losers out there who are okay with stealing.

KillerPwned4047d ago (Edited 4047d ago )

I will probably get slammed for this but here goes. I have pirate of course and sometimes to this day. But I still give developers my money. I hate the feeling of pirating a game and beating it just feels useless to me. I rather know if the game is worth it then buy the game and complete it(Journalist reviews don't help me). Of course its tedious to do this with every release I feel. So whatever I love most like Wolfenstein for example I will be buying come release.

CrowbaitBob4046d ago (Edited 4046d ago )

Steam made pirating obsolete for me. Then EA and Ubisoft came along and made pirating relevant again.

It's pretty sad when I own legit copies of EA and Ubisoft games, but play pirated versions because I'd like to just play the games rather than waiting for that Uplay and Origin crap to update every other day.

SteamPowered4046d ago

I wish they would let Steam dictate the Drm. I hear ya guy. Uplay is garbage. I hate being redirected. Gfwl has died the good death. I'm hoping origins and uplay follow.

matrixman924047d ago

This is to be expected with almost every big release now. Games on PC usually dont get leaked early because they need to make the crack, which can only happen on release day. The only PC game I have seen pirated early was Arkham Origins, and that was only one day early

It's an outstanding game and so was The Old Blood. Also a lost era of gaming. Interesting, I received a physical copy of The Old Blood 9 years ago today from Poland. It was digital only in North America initially upon release so I had to import.

Wolfenstein: The New Order - A Highly Rated FPS That Hasn't Stood the Test of Time

Wolfenstein: The New Order launched 10 years ago today, but can it stand up to the modern FPS titles it inspired?

Seth_hun387d ago

I disagree. Its still a fantastic game, with very good gunplay and a surprisingly loveable cast of characters and a good story trough many different and interesting setpieces

hiawa23386d ago (Edited 386d ago )

All The New Order needs for my tastes is a this gen enhancement patch.

ChasterMies386d ago

I played New Order a couple of years after launch and I give it an 8/10. The shooter holds up because it is focused on being a good shooter. There is no crafting, no RPG elements, no open world find the question mark Weapons are fun. Enemies are fun. Levels offer a nice mix of stealth and shooting. You get to be the predator; this isn’t a game about fending off waves of enemies while a robot companion unlocks a door. Most importantly, New Order is the last of a dying breed of single player shooters.

Skuletor386d ago

Singleplayer shooters are still getting released every year, just look up "boomer shooters" and you'll find an an abundance of them. AAA fps campaigns, not so much.

Last year had Trepang2, RoboCop: Rogue City, Turbo Overkill, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, Dread Templar, Sprawl and more

DustMan386d ago

The games you mentioned are not from AAA developers. Wolfenstein likely had a budget that was probably as big as all those games you mentioned combined. I'm not knocking the new wave of retro shooters. I absolutely love them (I think some get much higher review scores than they deserve though). I just really wouldn't describe Wolfenstein as purely a boomer shooter based on the relatively cohesive story, with cut scenes and is fully voice acted. Full set piece moments.

AA development seems to be focused keeping the single player solo experience alive. But the big developers are only concerned about the MTX and milking players who enjoy multiplayer.

ChasterMies386d ago (Edited 386d ago )

The age of AA shooters. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. I like less expense, shorter games.

Abear21386d ago

Weird all the Wolfenstein articles.

Can you guess what will be announced at Xbox showcase?

DefenderOfDoom2386d ago

What Machine Games did with Wolfenstein franchise is awesome. The game play definitely to me , is still very fun to play !!!
