CRYENGINE - Real-Time Short Film Released, Stunning Environmental Screenshots Unleashed

CNCPT has released an amazing short film that was rendered in real-time in CRYENGINE and looks great. While the animations are not as good as those found in Assassin’s Creed or Battlefield 4, the visuals that are being displayed are top notch. In addition, you can find below some environmental screenshots captured by modders ‘Ultimarage’ and “Maximum-Dev”.

Only big AAA devs xan afford good animations. All the bad animations made this demo look like PS2 CG.

90-95% of this is completely motion captured.
It was captured by the same Sony crew that did all the capture work for Naughty Dog's "The last of us". The performers are two highly skilled performers. One of which played Rinzler in Tron.
The other doubled the comedian in The Watchmen.

I will let them know their animations were bad.

This is why people should be checking out Miscreated (being made with cryengine) instead of DayZ, pretty much they took the best aspects of Rust and DayZ then blam - DayZ with building bases and awesome graphics.

This short film was developed for a feature film project called Craven Marsh as a pitch piece and rendered entirely in cryengine.

We did this with a crew of 6 people in 3 months from start to finish. We used Cinebox. Cinebox is the beta software that Crytek is developing as a film version of Cryengine.

While at 20th Century Fox I got involved with the team at Crytek headed up by Kirthy Iyer to develop the tool. We started about 3 years ago helping to fashion Cryengine into a useful tool for Previsualization and linear content.

Because of the pipeline we developed using Cinebox we are able to produce a higher level of quality in about the same time it would take to do traditional previz.

If you look at this piece as a very advanced piece of previsualization you can begin to see the power.

Now that Cinebox is becoming better known, other companies are starting to jump on the bandwagon and are interested in the work we have been doing in developing this tool.

We put a lot of hard work into pioneering how this is implemented in a pipeline. We generated previs on Dawn Of The Apes and Maze Runner using it. We also did the work in the Recent "Ryse Son Of Rome" national television spot.
