Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire – Nostalgia in a New Dimension

Steampunkphreak of The Gentleman Gamer writes: "Set in the Hoenn region, Ruby and Sapphire are incredibly popular among fans travel through the region as they face one of two teams with the goal of either flooding the world or covering it entirely in land of the series. With many expecting these games to earn remakes as has been seen for with Pokemon Fire Red, Leaf Green, Hear Gold, and Soul Silver before, fans have already begun speculating what new features will be added to the games."

Ultimate evolution for all of Hoenn region. for all pokemon!

I don't really see Ruby and Sapphire as nostalgic because it was the last gen of Pokemon that I bought and I still occasionally play Sapphire. I'd like to see what these are like though.

I don't have think of it as that old either, but it's been over a decade. And these remakes are so well done it's basically like whole new games. I hope they'll have 3D outside of battles, that's where it's actually interesting in my opinion, looking down on the beautiful world. And I hope they drop the third-person camera seen in parts of X/Y.

Yeah but it was also 2003. More than a decade is considered nostalgic for most.

Prepare to pick Blazaken again. You know you will.

Is anyone expecting anything less? It will be exclusive to Switch 2 eventhough it will still look like a 3DS game

Inverno60d ago

I think the 3DS games look better than anything GF released on Switch.

--Onilink--60d ago

To be fair, The Pokemon Company operates quite independently, so it wouldn’t have been that strange for a Pokemon game coming out in just the 2nd year of the S2’s life to still be crossgen. I mean, just how long into the PS5 and SX life are we and we are still seeing plenty of crossgen stuff

gold_drake60d ago (Edited 60d ago )

not surprised.

nintendo was prepared to have some games sell the console.

im sure the game will still look like its from the ps2 era tho.

coldfire98459d ago

that is in part because of the chip shortage when everyone over reacted to sars in 2019.

Kosic60d ago (Edited 60d ago )

I've lost interest in pokemon, the mega evolve stuff was a poor digimon rip off, then the stuttering mess the 3d versions are.
I'd love a remake of gold/silver in a top down view like lets go pikachu had, but sticking with the traditional pokemon mechanics.

Uh, yea, that’s how console generations are supposed to work…
