4 Big Reasons Why Fallout 4 Should Only Be Released On PS4 And Xbox One

IR: "So my first reason is The Witcher 3. CD Projekt’s role playing game is only coming on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. They have purposely avoided releasing the game on last gen consoles for a single reason."

There are so many reasons why it should be current gen only but since ESO isn't coming to last gen I don't worry about Fallout 4 / Elder Scrolls 6.

blue_cheese4060d ago

zero chance Fallout 4 is coming to last gen consoles. Todd Howard always says "if install base mattered, everyone would be making board-games because everyone has a table."

raWfodog4060d ago (Edited 4060d ago )

I'm not certain about the percentage of probability that Gen 7 consoles will or will not get this game but I hope a game of this caliber would only come to Gen 8 consoles and PCs. This will reduce the overall development costs as well as help to drive sales of Gen 8 hardware and PC upgrades. Plus we would get higher quality games if developers focused only on the more recent generation.

Audiggity4060d ago

That is a fantastic quote.

So he is making a Wii U version?

Todd Howard scurries away....

Lightning Mr Bubbles4060d ago

Because Fallout is badass franchise, one of the best and it can't be having any of this part current gen, part last gen stuff.

randomass1714058d ago

The userbase on current gen is big enough to justify omitting last gen releases. 'Nuff said.

You should've made the title of this article "Why Fallout 4 should only be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC."
The title makes people think you're against a PC version instead of last-gen versions.

Stapleface4060d ago

All people have to do is read what, like 2 sentences to figure out he isn't leaving out pc? React to the article and not the title.

GameSpawn4060d ago

I had no doubts myself that it was still PC. It's just a way of getting people to click on the article.

Personally I'm getting this for the PC for modding reasons alone. Modding was all the fun with Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Plus mods allowed me to fix and work around many of the game breaking glitches that took forever to get fixed. I fully expect Fallout 4 to have many of the same issues Fallout 3 and New Vegas had (more so if the scale goes up on world size and number of events scripted).

Saryk4060d ago

We only do titles here !

Just kidding! :)

randomass1714058d ago

I think Stapleface is right. We often react to the headlines without actually reading the article which is detrimental to both us and N4G as a whole. :/

I concur with reason #4. Fallout is not only catering to a hardcore audience - with Fallout 3 the series became a mainstream. The bottom line is if they make this game, the marked will follow.

cfc784060d ago

I've 1 big reason, because we brought next gen consoles.

MasterD9194060d ago

Fallout 4 deserves to run on an engine only worthy of next-gen consoles and PC.

We've seen what last-gen can do, and frankly, Fallout 4 needs the hardware upgrade. Last-gen has sailed...I wish the industry would intentionally steer clear of it when it comes to major sequels since sequels need to be improving the series, not just continuing it.

randomass1714058d ago

Just as long as it runs well and looks nice, I'm cool either way to be honest. :)

I think i made the mistake of giving Mama Murphy too many chems. Because I could never get my settlement past 98% happiness, and it even cost me the Platinum.

Fallout 4 on Switch 2 seems inevitable, but what about Starfield?

A Fallout 4 Nintendo Switch 2 port seems like an inevitability, but what about other Bethesda RPGs like Starfield.

I think all games will end up on switch from Xbox. MS has embraced going to other platforms now if games aren't doing well on Nintendo MS may be more selective in the future

On playstation they have been quite successful

anast72d ago

I'm not sure too many people want to play Starfield.

Profchaos72d ago

Phils all but confirmed they are going in hard with the switch 2

TheColbertinator72d ago

All are welcome to Switch 2. Microsoft Games Studios is interested in long term profits and market value not petty fanboy thoughts.

Starfield is actually a RPG. Bethesda hasn't done that in a while.

GhostScholar174d ago

People acted like starfield was so less interesting than fallout and drastically different, but I call bs on that. Both are decent games, but they are both filled with the appearance of things to do and items to interact with but 99 percent are just there to be there with no significance. Fallout has better character work but they are both sort of illusions that they’re vast.

Shiore2u174d ago

Studio has been going downhill since Skyrim. Every following game gets dumbed down more than the previous. I'll be shocked if Elder Scrolls VI even has dialogue options.

anast173d ago

Fallout 4 was bad, real bad. Starfield might even be a better RPG.

trez1082173d ago

Fallout 4 wasn’t a great fallout game per se but real bad? I don’t know maybe I’m a little biased because I replied it not long ago and had fun with it.
