The difference is 1k in la la land, in reality it's more. If you look the weeks of April 5&19 you'll see they adjusted the numbers up for PS4 and down for Xbox one. So expect the same for this weeks.

Yep, vgchartz is to sales for Xbox fans as MisterXMedia is to them for console graphics hardware.

Its good to see Sony finally caught on to fake sales numbers that vgchartz puts out and is doing monthly global installed base number updates for the PS4. The xbox fan at vgchartz is pretty much hamstrung in his ability to put out significantly low fake numbers for the PS4.

Although with Microsoft being too embarrased to release any installed base numbers for the Xbox One in 2014 the Xbox fan at vgchartz has pretty much free rein to put out absurdly high fake global Xbox One sales.

It's funny no one said anything about VGchartz at the beginning of the year when PS4 was peaking. Now that X1 is outselling PS4 they automatically discredit it. I can't imagine how stupid they'll look if X1 outsells PS4 in April.

The gap being officially shown by Walmart, Gamestop, Bestbuy, and Amazon is the widest yet with the PS4 taking its biggest lead to date. Yet some desperate kid that runs vgchartz from his parent's basement is generating more fake numbers. When Thursday arrives mr vgchartz, prepare to get an entire humble pie shoved down your blind throat.

At Gamestop, the bestseller list has had the X1 below 100 for 2 weeks. At Amazon it has been sitting in the 30s. It is several places behind the PS4 at Best Buy and Walmart. WTH N4G? No wonder people at Gaf laugh at this site giving it less credit than gamefaqs or 4chan.

Last weeks figures were adjusted up for the PS4 and adjusted down for the X1. The only problem is that people have already read those figures and the adjustments are never ever republished on N4Gs ... not that they'd get passed the wall of reports anyway: 'Duplicate'.

It won't be long before people are calling NPD fake too. Watch.

The PS4 was over 7 million as of April 6th and has been selling at roughly 900k to 1 million a month in 2014.

That means the PS4 is going to be over 7 million + 240k*3 weeks of sales. 7.7-8 million right now.

The Xbox One only sold 3 million by the start of 2014. And has only sold 711k in the US in 2014. It has sold 0k in Japan obviously.

The Xbox One has been absolutely bombing everywhere in Europe other than the UK. Legitimate sales numbers out of Europe have the Xbox One only selling about 40k a month in 2014.

That brings the Xbox One's real sales to only 3.8-3.9 million.

Feel free to show where these extra 400-500k of mystery sales are coming from for the Xbox One.

I prefer to be conservative. And remember these figures are a week behind ... At the present moment it's probably around:

PS4: 7.7-8m (as you say)
XB1: 4.3-4m (I rounded up for last weeks figures)

MS will not have 1 million in the stream unsold. Most people agree it's between 700k to 800k. MS announced 5 million 'shipped' on the 17th of April. As far as Sony's number is concerned, it's not as simple as averaging the sales into monthly numbers because they sold over 1 million in 2 days in America and 900k in two days when it launched in Europe. You'd get closer if you averaged 5 - 5.5 million.

After adjustments and taking into consideration that these numbers are old, it's safe to say the PS4 install base is almost 2:1 in comparison to X1.

And PS4 might hit 10 million already by the end of Summer. 14 million by the end of the year is a good goal for Sony.

Agreed. Last night at my local Walmart, I saw them replenishing stock of PS4s into the cabinet, while the same two Xbox One consoles from the previous week remained untouched. They always stock on Tuesdays and the Xboxes were in there from the day before (which means they wold have been put in no later than the previous Tuesday). However, I've gone in many times over the last several weeks, and they've always had the two since they sold the TF bundles a few weeks ago. So personally I think they haven't moved any in at least 2-3 weeks.

Even the clerk from my local computer store last week told me they've had the exact same Xbox One console on their shelf for weeks. She said they only had ordered the one, and while people ask about it, no one's bought it. Granted, it is a PC store, but she said they're selling PS4s quite well.

last weeks numbers and the ones before where adjusted last weeks are on this link http://gamrconnect.vgchartz... , its been posting higher numbers for X1 and lower on ps4 , they had adjusted there ps4 & X1 numbers after NPD. and ps4 numbers have been posted as low as 20-40 THOUSAND less WW. so these numbers to me are just a figure and taken with some salt. but its the only thing we can kinda see until we get real numbers . and just like march vg charts had X1 winning every week in the usa by 15-60,000 and when NPD came out it was ps4 on top by 60,000.

What I don't get is VGcharts said Xbox outsold PS4 the week before too yet PS4 dropped less in sales percentage wise and basic maths tell me if PS4 dropped 10% and Xbox 6% then PS4 actually sold more last week. Than again i'm taking on the premise these are not fake numbers..

We go through this every time that these numbers aren't in stone...of course, but they are probably ONE of the best indicators that we have and IMO it's good to see that the week to week numbers are getting closer and that the growth rate is actually (slowly) bringing the total numbers closer together. We need the companies to be competitive people.

The more interesting numbers are actually in the games sales.

I know the VG CHARTZ are not very accurate but it is better than just waiting for NPD numbers! to DJJUSTIN actually N4G is a part of VG CHARTZ and "GAMEREVIEW" if you go to the VG CHARTZ "home page". You will see a N4G section with about ten recent articles from N4G . I never go to "gamerReview" because their website chokes and freezes my PSthree ! It is terrible! But i go to N4G articles because their site works great with my PSthree . and VG CHARTZ site works great on my PSTHREE also! Nearly impossible eh? I went with a friend today to get a TitanFall bundle from GameStop, they didn't have it but the had plenty of regular XB1's plus PS4's. He ended up getting a TF bundle from Best Buy where the had plenty of both current gen systems in stock so yeah whatever.

I think it has something to do with the supply strategies. Every few weeks x1 catches up to the ps4, then suddenly ps4 gets a surge of a large supply.

They've been fully stocked at pretty much any Southern California store for weeks. Best Buy, Walmart, Fry's, Gamestop, Target, Costco, etc. There is NO shortage of PS4's here.

Give me a break. Ever since the end of January I have seen PS4's everywhere. The spring and summer months are the slow months for gaming and once the holiday demand ended, both consoles became readily available. Unless you live in a town of 10 people and they local store carries one a year, you can find any console very easily.

Once Xbox drops its price, which I think it'll knock it down $50 - $100 this E3 in America, those numbers will greatly increase. Most gamers don't come to these websites and make profiles to comment. Mainstream gamers care about the dollars and right now Xbox less appealing to average Joe at $499 when the PS4 is $399. If they drop the price to match Sony, numbers will obviously increase. I see Sony easily selling the most consoles world wide this generation, but MS will take over USA over the span of this generation.

Believe it or not, other than Titanfall and Infamous, their hasn't really been any real significant reasons to upgrade.

Every time I see charts like this the PS4 is selling less than usual. That's surprising since it's so cheap. But fanboys say all the charts are off. From here on out neither consoles will see a rush in sales unless it's a temporary one due to a highly anticipated game release. But then it'll calm right back down. I have both consoles cause I'm a real gamer,my X1 pad is faulty I took it back to my local Argos in UK they couldn't replace it as in their words they are sold out at all our stores they had one in stock 45 miles away,1!!!! Argos stores are everywhere in Uk every town and City and there's lots of those in a 45 mile radius of my town X1 is doing great in UK and USA so you doom merchants are spewing BS,Xbox will be fine as long as sales are the same as last gen in UK/USA who gives a shit about Japan and Europe??? PS4 even bombed in Japan,tried MP on P2P on PS4 with some asshole hosting in Germany no thanks,dedicated servers to local Uk or even USA for my MP is better for me which is why I buy SP on PS4 and MP games on X1
