Hardcore Droid - The way we see it, there are two types of video games out there: games that pull you in and immerse you in a deep and all-consuming mythos, and games you play to kill time. Alpha Zero is certainly the latter. Of course, this doesn’t mean Alpha Zero is a bad game by any means, but we certainly wouldn’t say it’s a game of the year contender. The great shame is that Alpha Zero’s true potential cannot be reached because it is simply too inconvenient to play. What could have been the perfect game for your morning commute is instead a taxing and uncomfortable mess.

PadGadget: Alpha Zero Review

PadGadget: Most of the time, you’re not going to hear me say that a new game is better than an old one. There is just something about the simplicity of side-scrolling arcade classics that hold a place in my heart that will never be filled with all the fancy graphics and 3D gameplay. Alpha Zero fits in the middle of these two generations. It is a 2D game with simple, shoot-em-up action, but implements two-handed touch screen controls for today’s gamer.
