Either someone making one already has a nearly finished project and is using Kickstarter as a gauge, they just started a project, had no understanding or underestimated forcing them to put out something that's incomplete or not at all, or its just a straight up con which again will either fold or put out something unfinished.
Still people support it because of the "ASAP" mentality that's become accepted.
