Holy crap, EA almost sold as many games as Nintendo. Who would of thought that like ten years ago.
Also ps3 sales look awesome. My ps3 just broke (first system to ever break on me, 360's been on suicide watch since 2008), do you think i should get a slim or super slim?

Neonridr3640d ago

wait what? Based off of that list how did you get anywhere near that conclusion?

EA Games sold in 2013 according to list - 8.71 million
Nintendo games sold according to list - 17.53 million

shouldn't your statement be:

"Holy crap, EA almost sold HALF as many games as Nintendo."

Concertoine3640d ago

That's just the top 10.
"Nintendo sold the most games with 60.96 million games. Electronic Arts sold 60.02 million games..."

I mean this is still vgchartz anyway xD

Neonridr3640d ago

Concertoine - oh gotcha. Well to be fair, EA exists on several different platforms, Nintendo only 2. But regardless, both companies sold a boat load of software.

NewMonday3639d ago (Edited 3639d ago )

don't bother debating the numbers because non of them is real.

we need to report VGChartz submissions as fake

everybody should do this to all the VGChartz submissions in the pending section.

GribbleGrunger3640d ago (Edited 3640d ago )

Jesus, they've still got TLOU at 4.25 million. It was announced by Sony themselves over 8 months ago that it sold 6 million. Never ever rely on VGC for software sales (just a tip).

Neonridr3640d ago (Edited 3640d ago )

maybe VGChartz didn't include digital sales and Sony's did?

And they announced it sold 6 million just last month.

http://www.gamespot.com/art...

but it doesn't clarify if that was sold to the end user or just to stores.

GribbleGrunger3640d ago

I doubt TLOU sold 1.79 million digitally.

I put 4.25m it should have been 4.21m just in case you question my maths.

Neonridr3640d ago

regardless, they only made the 6 million announcement last month before the GDC, so I don't know where you got 8 months ago.

GribbleGrunger3640d ago

You are right, I don't know where I got the 8 'months ago' either LOL. I was pretty certain they did announce it back then but clearly I'm wrong. Either way, people should never ever use VGC software numbers, they're not even ball-park worthy and never have been.

Neonridr3640d ago

@Gribble - yeah, I think they made an announcement a few months after that they had sold like 3 million, so maybe that's what you were thinking of.

Agreed, VGChartz has to be taken with a huge grain of salt. But at the same time, sometimes it's the most reliable numbers we have.

TitanUp3639d ago

i would rather see no numbers than to have unreliable data.

Theyre talking about TLOU copies sold in 2013 alone, not 2014. I'm sure theyre still off but not ridiculously off.
And 8 months ago TLOU had no where near 6 million. 8 months ago was August, only 2 months after launch they had around 2 or 3 million.

aquamala3640d ago

vgchartz so it's a given but somewhere in there it should have said "digital sales not included"

AndrewLB3639d ago

Yeah. But it doesn't include digital for ALL systems. So that should make the trends between the newest consoles a wash.

What I found interesting was the April 12th global game sales.

1 X360 Titanfall 398,404
2 PS3 3rd Super Robot Wars Z Jigoku 148,008
3 PSV 3rd Super Robot Wars Z Jigok 126,941
4 XOne Titanfall 120,137
5 XOne Kinect Sports Rivals 90,919
6 PS4 inFAMOUS: Second Son 66,472
7 X360 Minecraft 63,667
8 PC The Elder Scrolls Online 50,824
9 PS3 Call of Duty: Ghosts 48,791
10 X360 LEGO The Hobbit 48,447

You ladies can all argue till you turn blue in the face over console hardware sales, but there's no money in that. ALL the money is in the games. And that chart shows Xbone clearly destroying PS4 in game sales... for that week.

medman3639d ago

You need help. Microsoft is losing console sales and game sales, with multiplats available on both ps4 and xbone routinely selling more copy for Sony's system. Seriously, get some help. What you've done is similar to what Microsoft did when they claimed "victory" in sales for December 2013 when the only reason they "won" was the ps4 was sold out everywhere and unavailable. What a "win". Now you're comparing a week in which Titanfall is newly available for the 360, yet ignore the fact despite Titanfall sales the ps4 outsold the xbone in March, and leads convincingly in software sales across the board. Help is what you need, and help is what you must seek. Sony wins hardware and software, and your poor scrotum can't handle it. Good luck with that.

@aquamala

nothing is included VGCharts doesn't have any sources.

i think gta5 broke many sales records.

Tales Of Graces Ƒ Retro Review – Holding Out For a Hero

Gary Green said: Namco Bandai heard the call of many fans asking for the PlayStation release of Tales of Graces which was originally released seemingly exclusively for the Wii back in 2009. If you’re acquainted with the Tales series then Graces f won’t be something entirely new to you, yet if you’re a newcomer then you’ll find a plethora of gameplay mechanics and nuances that distinguish this series from other JRPGs. While the game finds itself following the traditional archetype of JRPGs, such as a somewhat clichéd story, Graces has something to offer to both veterans and newcomers alike.

Odd this and the xillia games still haven't gotten remasters yet.

It's A Crime That There's No Sleeping Dogs 2 Yet

Huzaifah from eXputer: "Sleeping Dogs from the early 2010s is one of the best open-world games out there but in dire need of a resurgence."

LG_Fox_Brazil1d 1h ago

I agree, I consider the first one a cult classic already

isarai19h ago

You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is

CrimsonWing696h ago

That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.

solideagle5h ago

Majority of the time it's true but if a company/publisher is big (in terms of money), they can take a hit or 2. e.g. I am not worried about Rebirth sales as Square will make Remake 3 anyway but if FF 17 doesn't sell then Square might need to look for alternative. <-- my humble opinion

Abnor_Mal4h ago

Doesn’t Microsoft own the IP now since they acquired Activision?

Abnor_Mal1h ago

Oh okay, Activision owned True Crime, but when that didn’t sell as intended it was canceled. Six months later Square Enix bought the rights and changed the title to Sleeping Dogs.*

*As per Wikipedia

boing13h ago(Edited 3h ago)

Sleeping Dogs was a sleeper hit back then. It was fantastic. It actually still is. Would love a sequel to this, or at least a revive of True Crime series.

Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-earth II - PC Wore it Better

Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-earth II was an intriguing and unique RTS title, that sadly suffered in its console port.

dadavis199216h ago

Was just thinking about this game and wishing I had a way to revisit it. The way EA scrubs these titles from existence once their licensing runs out is horrid.

Michiel19895h ago

there is a client made by modders and it also works online.

kevco335h ago

Indeed. The game can still be played online on PC.

Xbox 360 players, though? Bang outta luck.
