Dragon Age Inquisition: Open World Exploration Won’t Be as Extensive as Skyrim

The open world element will be one of the most enthusiastic and anticipated features of Inquisition and despite all its richness, depth and massive dimension, the game “won’t be as open as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim”, said BioWare Producer Cameron Lee.

To be fair, what they lose in exploration, they make up for in story and characters. I mean, Skyrim is essentially an exploration-based RPG, hence why companions are poorly done and the game is so atmospheric. If it were superior, Bethesda would have an inferior product on all fronts, which I don't see happening.

The fact Bioware have taken exploration this far has pleasantly surprised me.

With some games, I like a tightly woven narrative that simply doesnt exist in games like skyrim. You can still have open worlds and traveling to different places etc.

To be honest, sometimes an open world is a h inderance b/c u cant go anywhere else. Sometimes the story is better when u do.

Where does it say 'as extensive' in the article?
It says it is not 'as open as' and I think it means the game is multi-regional not like Skyrim with one open region.

It does not matter.
I don´t expect a Skyrim sized world for a sequel of the brilliant DA Origin
