Microsoft made a good change when they promoted Phil.

ScareFactor2102d ago

I think it should have happened right after the e3 debacle, but better late than never

Immorals2102d ago

All the disagrees.. Sigh.

I can't wait for the next 2 years, gonna be a great time to be a gamer. (and expensive!)

Godmars2902102d ago (Edited 2102d ago )

Given how badly the E3 debacle was forewarned by internet chatter it shouldn't have happened at all.

Likewise that someone who was at the center of that debacle has been named head of the "New Order" it shouldn't be taken as the automatic win it seems to be by the Xbox camp.

Cause I'm hearing a lot of "What's Good for Xbox is Good for the Industry". The same dogmatic crap which was being said in and around the "debacle".

FriedGoat2102d ago

Yay What a great time to be a gamer! I love phil, he's the best. He's gonna make the xbox one faster and the games 10X better with his words.

@jagil

I agree. Phils appointment as head of xbox isn't just a win for ms and xbox fans but it was a great move for the industry as a whole.

The guy is definitly the right person for the job and this couldn't have come at a better time. I imagine things would be a lot different if he was put in charge long before now...but as scarefactor said above better late than never. I hope he continues moving the division in the right direction

Add to that Spencer actually opens up to interviews, whereas Mattrick and Ballmer came off as toxic invalids.

randomass1712101d ago

Definitely a good change for Microsoft. Mattrick was nothing but destructive and backwards thinking.

Staff wars are awesome its one facet of the console wars that I think is hysterical , the pain when that sony guy left was some funny reading kept me laughing for days as long as the suits bring me entertainment they can be invisible as far as I am concerned.

Jack was a fantastic guy and did a lot for the gaming industry. I don't know him, personally, but I did meet him at the GameStop Expo. He was the only executive who came out onto the floor after the big presentations and discussed games with everyone.

randomass1712101d ago

Wow, that sounds like a pretty awesome experience! Which games did you guys wind up discussing?

WeAreLegion2101d ago

He asked me what I was playing. At the time, I was going through God of War III again, as well as Skyrim. He was working on a LittleBigPlanet 2 level and I believe going through the Half-Life series again.

Skate-AK2102d ago

Hope that he can turn it around for Xbone. There has been some pretty bad press over the last couple months.

Congratulations to Phil. Steer the ship forward and don't look back. Bring on the games first and everything else second.
