PS4 1.7 Firmware Update Allows HD Streams on Twitch Too, Side Bar Chat; More Coming Before Release

The official press release sent by Sony to accompany the announcement of the release April 30th release date of firmware update 1.7 had a few new details.

Sony is the greatest company in the world. They created PS4 which is a generation ahead of Xbone and it takes the PC geeks, two over priced GTX Titans to match or exceed the power of an optimized PS4.

ahahah lol. If ur PC rig is so much more powerful as u claim it to be...then how comes the Resolution of Last of Us on PC is 0000×0001 0000.001fps whiles on PS4 it is 1920×1080p 60fps. PS4 is the absolute greatness in all things video games. Please PC geeks. Just admit that PS4 is just better for gaming. It has Dualshock 4, It's anti-DRM, its pro choice for gamers. This is good news indeed, the improvements that the PS4 will be getting with this single update just keeps getting better and better, and they probably haven't even announced the most important one yet! Keep it up Sony!

Still would like for my PSN friends on the PS3 to see me online with my PS4 though, I've already had a few buddies delete me because they think I am inactive. I need to log into my PS3 every few days just to avoid more deletions.

If it was in, they would have announced that with the main (anticipated) features (HDCP off, ShareFactory, Store media in USB, etc..) so I'm going to guess they haven't added MP3 playback in yet.
Also I don't think an anticipated feature like that would be announced within the smaller changes.

PS3 updates were annoying. i think PS+ updated your PS3 automatically when on Standby but I guess a lot of people didn't have PS3 on standby like me. It's way too frequent and takes too long for me to download and install. You can't do anything whilst updating PS3 which was the main point.

Seriously, I would LOVE to have a 10 Mbps connection, fastest net speed I have ever had is 3Mbps, and to me that was insanely fast (had ~700Kbps before that).

Some people are just spoiled, or their computers are so bogged down from poor management and/or viruses, that they don't even get those speeds and believe that 10Mbps is "slow".

Damn, I only have 1.5 Mbps where I live and no better service is available. The bar I hang out at 20 miles from home has a 10 Mbps public WiFi and it's a joy to use compared to this pos I have at home.

10 Mbps is better than what most people in America have.

Well in Florida we have Brighthouse Networks. Options are 1Mbps, 10Mbps, 30Mbps, 60Mbps and 90Mbps. They get more expensive as they go up and I pay $57 for 10Mbps per month.

I'd like to see uploading to YouTube from the PS4. There are also smaller tweaks that need addressing such as: 1) Why is it that when I delete a message on PS4, does it not delete on my Vita or PS3 either? If I delete it, it should be gone on all platforms. 2) Why doesn't my PSP power on while I'm at work after purchasing a game and not download and install so it's ready to go when I get home? 3) Why can't I delete notifications to give me a clean screen? I want to see what I want, not what I'm dictated to see.
