Nintendo Enthusiast's Shawn Long debuts his new YouTube series Nintendo Rants. In the first episode, he takes a look at Cult County and why it's failing on Kickstarter. By the way, he's not to happy about it.
People don't know what they want.
As I said on Twitter, 3DS backlash.
I don't think PS4 and Xbox One owners care about that though. So it's a double edged sword.
It was never intended for them in the first place. The game was postponed for the 3DS to accomodate more platforms thus the backlash.
Yeah that is one way to look at it.
I haven't seen much sites promoting it
This is one area where the kickstarter bandwagon fails.
for one, I have no idea what this game is
Sad. It looks promising, but the goal was too much. I still backed it to show support.
Yep, I think their goal was pretty high. Maybe it's just not the game people want. It looks interesting, but it's not something I'd buy.
Because Sony fans only want to play exclusives, Xbox fans only want to play Titanfall, and Nintendo fans.... well, you know. "Anything that isn't Mario or Zelda is lame, including other Nintendo games!"
No cause Sony fans aren't fond of the developer. Nintendo fans are their main audience.
Nintendo fans think anything that isn't Mario or Zelda is lame, huh? Well I'm looking at my Wii U library right here. Let's see, games I own that aren't Zelda or Mario, hell let's make this interesting. Let's make it third party games. So I've got: ZombiU Need for Speed Most Wanted U Resident Evil Revelations The Wonderful 101 and I'll be reserving Bayonetta 2 as soon as it's available, along with Fatal Frame IV and X. On Topic: I've looked at the tech demo for Cult County. The problem is that you can't sell a 3DS game on consoles if you don't up the polygon count from a system that doesn't even match up to sixth gen consoles in terms of graphical prowess. You can count the vertexes on everything in the video. Sometimes with your hands. That's not gonna sell to anyone.
Maybe because the game looks like crap. The satanic symbols is a turn off too. I don't support illuminati.
Their kickstarter didn't really show much. Their first video showed nothing of actual gameplay or screenshots. And with their goal asking price, you gotta show something and not just concept art. Show in game models, walk cycles, attack animations, anything, just as long as it was from the actual game (even if it's in pre pre alpha stage) And their were some other problems as well. They honestly just made a lot of "My first Kickstarter" mistakes that could be fixed with another attempt if they were to try.
This, I see very little that entices me about the game. I think this guy need to pull his head out of his ass and fawning over a game just because he seems to blindly loves the developer.
Lack of press prior to the campaign. Doesn't matter if they have games under the belt. Some developers rush into Kickstarter, which is why they fail.
Screw this game all my money is tied up in a Rambo stage musical.
I've never heard of it.
Renegade kid is not a good enough developer. They make original concepts and that's great, but they don't really pack a punch with what they make IMO.
