FTC Approves Facebook's Oculus VR Buyout

VRFocus - The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has officially approved of social network giant Facebook’s buyout of Oculus VR for $2 billion USD. The deal to buy the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset makers has has passed antitrust assesments and been given the go-ahead by both that organisation and the US Department of Justice. As Reuters explains, he deal was listed as just one of a number of approved transactions published this week.

I thought the X1 news back then was about the FCC. correct me if I'm wrong.

Because there was never even the slightest chance that the deal wouldn't go through. Facebook are a software company, while Oculus are hardware. The result is that this is about as perfect as diversification can get in terms of business (software+hardware benefit from each other plus the benefits of diversification.

I'm not saying I support the deal, but it wasn't exactly like Sony merging with Microsoft to monopolise the console gaming market.

I don't see what the big deal is, one way or the other we are going to get Virtual Reality for games very soon.
