With help from a growing posse on 4chan, Pastebin user Data_Baser is attempting to compile a list of every video game ever released. Not just console games or PC games, but every mobile and browser-based game as well. The current count? 43,806.

It will take luck.

There are a large number of games that flew under the radar with little to no exposure. Today, it's like they never existed.

You will need someone knowledgeable and probably old enough to remember some of the earlier ones.

Just covering the Atari 2600 is going to take some serious research.

Rivitur3657d ago

Wow but how do you know when ur finished though?

thorstein3657d ago

You aren't ever finished. However, with the explosion of shovelware on the Wii and Kinect will make this a burdensome task.

Kenshin_BATT0USAI3657d ago

How...pointless. No offense, but I see nothing to gain from this, from the guy's perspective and from anyone else's. Seems like he just has A LOT of time to kill.

NBT913657d ago

I mean I doubt he's looking to gain anything from it anyway so saying there's nothing to gain from it may not be particularly relevant.

We all have a lot of time to kill don't we?

Kenshin_BATT0USAI3657d ago

Eh, I dunno, if I had an excessive amount of spare time, I would learn a skill or trade, or take up a fun hobby.

This cataloging just seems kinda...'depressing'?

I don't mean any offense to the guy, if he's enjoying it, great. I just seriously hope he is. Because it doesn't sound like my idea of a good time. xD

zero_gamer3657d ago

He is gaining publicity some of us will never have.

rainslacker3657d ago

I've been compiling a database myself for a collection program I'm writing. It's rather tedious, and after compiling about 5000 entries based off gamefaqs data, I've been looking at other ways of getting the data.

I'd love it if this guy makes this publicly available, since I never plan to monetize it, as it would save me a lot of time, for something I'll likely never be able to finish. But it's just part of something I"m interested in, so I don't find it a waste of time.

My head is spinning just thinking about this.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
