GamerBolt: "The following list of titles contains some of the more noteworthy failures we’ve seen…"
Pretty solid list, I'd add MAG, and SOCOM Navy Seals, but take away Resident Evil 6 myself (wasn't the best in the series, but better than 4 and 5 IMO). I'd also add Too Human. It was super hyped up until release and then just didn't do very well...although I do like the setting and such, so if they completely scrapped the gameplay and re did this game as a first person RPG or MMO it could be awesome. I'd also add Crackdown 2 (esp compared to Crackdown 1), and Killzone 2 @Nitro, yeah bud, you're completely right...these are all just a matter of opinion of course. I was really looking forward to MAG, and played the Beta, but then was let down a bit, I still bought it hoping the full game would be better, but I just didn't get to it. I CAN see how others would like it though, it had a GREAT premise and was ground breaking at the time...I loved that it was a MP that "evolved" and that reaching objectives created different opportunities in game. So from that perspective, yeah I should take it off the list because it was very ambitious/progressive...but I feel that it just didn't quite hit the mark is all.
MAG is debatable (they all are, but I feel this one more) IMO. I personally enjoyed it (almost plat it) as did a few of my other friends, though I know people who thought it was terrible. I know every game can have an opinion, but I felt it was one of those you either love it or hate it type of game.
I remember playing a lot of MAG very step learning curve. I enjoyed it i know it wasn't a great game but it just felt special? I have nothing but respect for you nearly having the Plat that is insane trophies were few and far between in that game
i had trouble sniping in mag, actually i had trouble killing people in general.
RE6 better than RE4 and RE5? Ha, usually its the other way around but I guess to each his own.
Enjoy MAG alot, it was like BF mix with COD. Even more fun messaging someone you are standing behind, then knifing them. Last I check, MAG had people playing it, SOCOM was alright. But there was worst, Brink anyone?
MAG's servers were finally shut down. I miss it. I enjoyed SOCOM4's online, though as a long time fan I admit it wasn't true to the series. Brink might top my personal list of last gen's most disappointing games, and if not Brink then it would be Dead Island, which was the buggiest game I've ever played in my life. I played it again not long ago and the bugs were mostly gone, but it still wasn't the zombie game I hoped it would be when that original trailer came out.
Another game I gotthat wasn't worth it, X Blades was pretty bad to and its knock offs.
MAG was my favorite online FPS last gen. There's still nothing else like it on consoles, and the only console game on the horizon that's even a little similar is Planetside 2. I hope Sony eventually brings MAG2 to the PS4 but I don't see it happening. I enjoyed SOCOM4's online play also, which I assume is the SOCOM you're referring to, though I didn't like the solo campaign and the online play wasn't true to the series.
Killzone 2 wth. For what? MP? SP you better have a real good reason because its one hell of a shooter. Loved the campaign, right behind cod4.
You know nothing about SOCOM. Halo, CoD, and MoH used to bow to the king called SOCOM. There hasn't been a shooter worth playing since SOCOM Confrontation in 2008. MAG wasn't great but to put that with SOCOM shows you know nothing about these franchises. The only thing they had in common was the developer.
Not sure how RE6 can be considered better than 4. I felt RE4 at least had smoother controls, a better inventory system and QTEs that didn't get in the way of the gameplay. to each their own though.
A guy who frequently bashes Playstation and its games wants to add a few well-regarded Playstation to a list of most disappointing games? And with no actual reasoning? Color me surprised.
Are you on drugs? Resident Evil 4 is one the greatest games EVER created.
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3DS & RollerCoaster Tycoon 4
Oh Haze. I remember playing the demo and I am glad I did. It instantly put me off getting that game.
Yeah Haze was a pretty big disappointment for me. I remember playing the demo and expecting it to really wow me, but... well, you know the rest.
Strange where is Fallout 3? or any Bethesda game? or that Halo 3 expansion I mean Halo 3: ODST which was 60$. Thank you what a terrific audience
Why did "Fallout 3 or any Bethesda game" make you disappointed?!
Dafuq? Fallout 3, oblivion, skyrim, morrowind and pretty much every bethesda game has NOT dissapointed.
Idk maybe the fact that they took the view from Isometric to a generic FPS and brought with them their terrible engine with its 45702 glitches, oh and worse writing.
Fallout 3 is one of the best games last-gen even with the tech issues(on consoles). If you want a good fallout experience buy a copy on steam and get a good enb filter.
I agree with all except Lost Planet 2. The game was 10x better than the original. The coop was much better and the online greatly improved. LP1 I couldn't play for more than 10 minutes without getting annoyed. LP2 my friends and I would play all night. Maybe switch that for LP3.
I would add Homefront to the list too.
I'm surprised Duke Nukem Forever didn't make this list, actually.
Worst game of the last generation.
I love articles like these that say "worst games of all time!!" yet only have games from the most recent generation. It just shows that I'm getting old :( My list would have a lot more games from past gens. Sadly, I think there is more disappointment with games these days only because the Internet reveals wery single fact and hypes up games that aren't worthy of being hyped. We used to have to wait until next month's magazine to find gaming news.
well..there was ET and pacman for the Atari 2600...Im probably the only person to have completed ET for the Atari 2600 LOL
What the hell was wrong with PacMan? I'm starting to think you people only read about games instead of actually playing them.
@Tommy....I bought it and played it like crazy..but it in all actuality was a horrible port of the game.
If we're talking all time, then Superman 64 and ET for Atari would easily make this list.
You would definitely be one of a select few. I could never even figure out what to do! Stupid FBI agents...
...and i don't see Aliens: Colonial Marines here O_o so this list don't seem legit :P
Roller Coaster Tycoon 4 should be on there
I was extremely disappointed by The Getaway. Loved that they mapped London and for PS2 the graphics were solid but the poor controls and health system ruined the game for me.
