I really wish that Nintendo would bring a playable demo of Mario Kart 8 to the Eshop (Limited uses and all, I don't care)..

TheVideoGamHer2276d ago

That would be dope. Has Nintendo ever made demos for their own games before?

randomass1712276d ago

There was a demo for Fire Emblem Awakening. That's the only one I can think of. The rest were kiosk demos at local stores.

Concertoine2276d ago

Mario and Luigi: Dream team was another.

TheVideoGamHer2276d ago (Edited 2276d ago )

Concertoine, I forgot about that. Does W101 count? lol

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory2276d ago

Fire Emblem Awakening that was due to see if it would be a successful title because it was going to be the last one.

deafdani2276d ago

I guess W101 would count since Nintendo published it and they own the rights to that IP.

I don't think they will do it with Mario Kart because they know anyone with a Wii U is getting the full game anyway. Same goes for Smash Bros. Which begs the question why they let it be an option to automatically download any game demo that comes out. Sigh.

What I wouldn't give for a demo right about now, the wait is crippling. Boy, when Nintendo release (in due time) their 1st party staple franchises every other developer better just stand well back. It will be very interesting to see both Mario Kart 8 and Watch Dogs pitted side by side, both releasing near enough the same time. Yes, both are very different games - aesthetically and gameplay - but each has so much hype, I wonder which will deliver best...not really, its pretty damn obvious, Mario Kart 8!

randomass1712276d ago

I think they'll both sell well. The Wii U version of Watch Dogs certainly can't get in the way of Mario Kart succeeding.

LexHazard792276d ago

True that! Im glad Wii U is getting a big game like Watch Dogs aswell. Along with MK8 and what they already have, Wii U looking real good!

What I really want to know is if 2 player split screen online is 60 fps AND if they will have DLC in any way shape or form.

It would be a HUGE misstep to not include DLC. They would make so much money on additional characters and tracks. I dont see how they could include it in Pikmin and Mario Bro U and not include the ability to add content to Mk8

randomass1712276d ago

It's confirmed, 2 player split screen is 60fps but will drop to 30 at three players or higher. DLC is not announced, but I think it's possible. They experimented with Pikmin, I imagine they will introduce some sort of free update like Sonic Lost World or something.

bobacdigital2276d ago

I was just wondering if they would nerf it once you got online with 2 player split screen.

deafdani2276d ago

Mario Bros U had DLC? I never saw it. NSMB2 (3DS) did, though.

:/

CaptainN2276d ago

It was the New Super Luigi U that was the DLC!

deafdani2274d ago

@CaptainN: damn, yes, I completely forgot about that. Must be because I actually own Luigi U in physical format (had to have that sweet green case), so I tend to think of it as a standalone game. But yes, it's definitely DLC. :P

Mario Kart 8 looks so good.
