I don't disagree with the choices, but I wouldn't want to wait another 6-8 years for them. What would be wrong with putting them on current generation consoles. They would look great on the XBone and PS4.

It's not about what you're ready for; it's the way it is. PS4 and X1 are now the current technology. I still tend to say "next gen" when referring to them, but old habits die hard. It's like writing "2013" when you're 3 months into 2014.

Writers and commenters just need to wrap their heads around it, and start calling PS4 and X1 this gen.

No, just no. We had re-releases for PS3, and we don't need RE-RE-RELEASES for PS4.

Only re-release that deserves to be on PS4 is Last of Us, and that should come with all the single-player DLC included and with Morpheus support to justify its price tag. I can overlook the fact that I've already beat that game to its tiniest bit of pieces, just because I think it was the game of the last generation.

Other than that game, I say we should let them rest.

Nah, the last thing the PS4/XB1 need are more re-HD, re-hashes and re-mastered previous gen games..

Time for the new consoles to have their own games with their own identity.

I agree that we should get more games that utilize today's tech but some games need rereleases.

I can't even play PS2 games anymore because the lower resolution strains my eyes, literally. I would appreciate if we were able to get updated versions that were softer on the eyes. I would love to replay some of my favorite PS2 classics without my eyes hurting.

Im with you, seems every game is getting remade. I mean thats why we have PSNow coming and hopefully the Xbox 360 emulator so we can play classic games!

I know its not the case but I feel at time Next gen is just last gen rehashes and f2p games.

I'm not a fan of "remakes" unless they were a few generations back. At this point, I'd be comfortable w/ NES - PS1 era remakes. But anything after that, I think it's too soon and quite frankly, a waste of a dev team.

And maybe the PS1 era is a bit of stretch too, maybe games that weren't made in a 3D enviroments should be the only ones getting a remake. For example, Metal Gear 1, or Contra. These games were limited to a 2D envrioment, and a remake could really change the way those games played.

I don't want games being remade with just a graphics upgrade in mind. There are betters way to use development teams imo.

HD remasteries work because they don't re-make most of the content. They just put in HD textures (which they may or may not already have in their archives) and do the necessary compatibility adjustments.

The PS1 metal Gear Solid... I'm not 100% into rehashing everything from the past, but since the MGS progression pretty much stopped with Gun of the Patriots, and all the installments since have taken place in the past and the PS1 game was future tense compared to the more current games (deep breath), I'd be just fine if Kojima redid it with his Fox engine.

You may not have to buy a re-release. There have been rumblings that Rockstar is working on an all new Bully rather than an HD remake.

I highly agree. These titles just had HD remakes. It is time to move on to something new. As for the PS4 and remakes, if we are going to go that route we could really use a Syphon Filter. And one of my favorites, Fear Effect.

6 of the 7 games listed already have HD remasters. This is the reason why no backward compatibility isn't an excuse. The Silent Hill, God of War, and MGS collections ALL came out well after they started planning and making (probably sending out dev kits) for the Ps4. These games do NOT need a next re-release because gamers are not going to be willing to pay $40 bucks for these games AGAIN.

Highly disagree with this list, there are plenty of other games that would benefit from a hd remaster/make that were under appreciated or didn't get enough exposure.

Agreed. There's no way I would pay AGAIN to play God of War Collection, Sly Cooper etc. I think releasing these games on Vita, as tempting as it is to have them on a portable console, I still may have to say no. I will only buy new HD remasters at this stage.

Cel Damage HD may be the very first for this generation. luckily it's cross-buy.

Bring Mass effect 3 to next gen, GTA 5, Skyrim.

And a fast reboot of BO2 so we do not have to play Ghosts it was a big let down with Ghosts.
