Tappingo – Full Review : 3DSBlessed

Cyburn writes : "At first glance, Tappingo looks like a Picross clone – both games have a chunky, blocky aesthetic and are based around solving a puzzle to make a picture. But Tappingo takes a different path to that goal from Picross.

This puzzler from Goodbye Galaxy Games requires the player to swipe blocks in a direction in order to create a line. Blocks will slide until hitting something, so blocks are numbered – telling you how many spaces a line from it should extend. This all forms the blueprint and materials to give you a general idea on what to create. The first level gives a tutorial to Tappingo‘s mechanics, and after that you are able to solve the other 103 puzzles in any order".

Hugo Smits Considering Bringing Tappingo to Wii U eShop

Goodbye Galaxy Game’s Hugo Smits is on a roll today, first confirming his plans for a new 3DS first person shooter by the end of the year, and now talking about his first Wii U project.

Smits thinks that it would make sense for an easy port to start with, and what better game to pick that recent 3DS eShop puzzle game Tappingo.

Firing up Tappingo for the first time, you cannot help but think about Picross, Nintendo’s puzzle series appropriated from the popular nonogram logic puzzles popularized in 1980’s Japan. It involves “colouring in” pixel art compositions by extending coloured blocks in accordance to the numeric value on each one.
