Epic Fail: First Person Shooters

X-Play lists the most epically 'failure-riffic' First Person Shooters ever. It was inspired by the release of Haze, a much hoped-for PlayStation 3 exclusive that came out earlier this week and has failed to live up to fans' dreams. Such is life, and such are these Epic Fail First-Person Shooters.

Haze is a disaster!

I look forward to this list being updated in february with Killzone 2.

ps360s5816d ago

okie dokie...

anyways Haze werent a fail :P it was an ok game, most people hyped it up but for me I werent expecting it to be AAA or anywhere above the 7/10 scores

It's a fun shooter for a group of friends :)

anways WOW Killzone 2 u mention...u work for SONY? GG? U got a time machine? can u tell me when the next Playstation or Xbox comes out or what it looks like?

Condoleezza Rice5816d ago

I wonder why you're still here,if indeed the site isn't catering to your needs ;) ?

Anyways,on topic;I like how these sites are trying to label Haze as the worst FPS in the history of video gaming, amusing to say the least.

But he's defending Sony so breaking the rules is okay right...

"There is no Xbox FPS to compare to two games that haven't even released yet. But I'm totally biased and can see the future."

mmajunkie1235816d ago (Edited 5816d ago )

i really hope killzone 2 doesnt fail like killzone 1..because from the previews i heard it was just such graphic powerhouse and mediocre gameplay sort of like " i have big junk.......but i cant get it up"

Lyan5816d ago

Anticipation generally lets your imagination run wild with possibilities of what the game will be like before you get a shot at it. I'm pretty sure Haze was subject to this as the media and the developers were hyping Haze a lot. I'll rent it to judge for myself.

@ ps360s
Wow dude... replace "werent" with "wasn't". I'm not a grammar nazi, but damn dude I felt like I was reading something someone wrote in the woods while they were playing the banjo.

Presentist5816d ago

So now people are "biased" if they happen to not like Haze and Killzone 2?

I wouldn't say someone is biased if they didn't want to buy Halo 3 and Ninja Gaiden 2, there's no difference and you're being intolerant.

lessthanmarcus5815d ago

...four FPS's off the top of my head, right now, that are worse than Haze. The Darkness, Timeshift, Conflict: Denied Ops, Soldier of Fortune. Those are just 4 that I can think of.

trikster405815d ago

Yah, that is really more of an open zone remark. I don't know how you can watch any video of Killzone and then say it's going to epic fail.

THE DEALER5815d ago

I AM SURE THAT KILLZONE WILL TOP THE LIST. ALSO WITH METAL GEAR LOOKING A BIT....WELL SH*T AND ALSO CONTAINING THE OPTION TO PLAY THE WHOLE GAME THROUGH FIRST PERSON. I AM SURE THAT WILL TOP THE LIST AGAIN.....TO BE HONEST I THINK IT IS JUST EXCLUSIVE GAMES FOR PS3!

PS3 EXCLUSIVE GAMES = FAIL!

PS3 = FAIL!

AND MUCH MUCH MORE......

Short list. Perfect dark zero belongs on there, so does blacksite area 51, and turrok.. probably tons of others. No other genre churns out tons of mediocre crap like fps games.

Adamalicious5816d ago

I agree w/ all three of those. And where the heck is Daikatana?!? :)

lsujester5816d ago

-"So are most FPS that aren't Halo of course,..."

This article is an epic fail.

dragonJP5815d ago

...bubble for you. By now there must be thousands upon thousands of FPSs that could be considered "epic fail." Your mention of "Perfect Dark Zero" is a perfect example of hype failing to pan out. Will have to play Haze before lumping it on top of that giant stack of FPS crap, but it doesn't look too good....

Darkwatch wasn't that bad

and Haze shouldn't be there- it's disappointing, NOT bad

Montrealien5816d ago (Edited 5816d ago )

could not have said it better. Loved Darkwatch and Haze is a good game, just not the Insane classic some people seemed to have though it was going to be.

DARKKNIGHT5815d ago

EPIC FAIL:

anything branded microsoft

LevDog5816d ago (Edited 5816d ago )

Ok Ill admit HaZe was supposed to be good.. Now If it is or isnt, thats up to people who buy it to decided...

But it isnt the game that everyone is waiting for like most of these articles are stating.. Everyone Knows JUNE 12th is the most anticipated date.. Everyone Knows Haze was a side note to MGS4.. Every commenter and Ps3 owner knows this.. No one Ive seen ever said 360 would die because of haze.. While I dont agree that one game can kill a console.. It was MGS4 that was used for that argument..

So even tho Haze may have failed in the reviews.. Its not that big of deal.. MGS4 is the game .. SIMPLY THE GAME

Ps I understand that its a FPS article.. but that shouldnt matter.. Haze wasnt that big amongst PS3 fans.. MGS4 is what everyone is waiting for

heyheyhey5816d ago

i had high hopes for it

but that was only because FRD made it

June 12 will certainly be a turning point in the console war and Playstation will reign supreme once more!!!!

July will be pretty big too- Wipeout HD, Siren and Linger In Shadows

chasuk085816d ago

ok so haze isnt that good and theres like 10 articles on most dissapointing games on 2008, worst shooters, epic fail etc, whats the point.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
